In the current Stampin’ Up! catalogue there are two card kits which are going to be carried over
to the new catalogue when it launches on 1st July, 2014.
Normally, I’m not a fan of card kits but I decided to buy both of them to find out
what they are all about.
The result?
I’m very happy to recommend them to everyone,
whether you’re an experienced card maker
or a beginner who would like to try their hand at card making
without having to fork out a lot of money on card stocks, stamps, ink pads, etc.
What I like most about these sets is that there is plenty of scope
for you to put your own spin on the designs.
You don’t have to stick to the suggestions that come with the packs – I certainly didn’t with mine!
This first set is called Happenings Simply Created Card Kit
and you can make 15 cards – envelopes are included in the kit – for £13.50/€17.95.
I added extra layers to mine. For example, the card below,
I added a Pistachio Pudding starburst layer under the patterned circle.
I also added a co-ordinated layer under the striped DSP layer .
On this card I added the a decorative trim in Pistachio Pudding above and below
the pennant, as well as an extra layer under the spotted DSP..
The set below is the second set I bought and is called the Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit.
This one costs £17.97/€24.95 and you get everything you need
to make 20 cards – envelopes included. All you need to add is scissors and glue.
The pack includes 3 rubber stamps, a clear stamp block, an Ink Spot of Basic Grey ink, Dimensionals, baker’s twine.
There are two more sets in the new catalogue, one of which is a digital set
