It’s the weekend again and I hope you have a fantastically crafty one!
Today
is the last project in my Week 8 Challenge – Uses for Die Sets. Well,
maybe not quite! I made two projects yesterday, one was this card and
the second I’ll share with you tomorrow. It’s a tatty cardboard box I
use to store an assortment of glues in. It would have been easier to
dispose of it and get a new one but, I’m a paper-crafter and knew I
could renovate it. I used the Deco Labels Framelits for part of the
decoration, so more about that tomorrow.
For
project 5, I decided I would make a shaped easel card using the dies
and I’m really pleased with the result. Using this die set the finished
card is smaller than the normal size I make. The finished size is 4 1/4″
x 3 5/8″ and fits into one of our note card envelopes – the width, just
about and the length has about 3/4″ spare.
To start with, I die cut a normal-size card in Blushing Bride using the no. 4 die by
placing the edge of the die just above the fold. I folded one side in
half towards the centre, to form the easel support. Then I did a single
die cut, also in Blushing Bride. I used no. 2 to cut one Whisper White
and no. 3 to cut two in Whisper White.

Not sure what happened to the colour of this photograph!! |
The
Best Day Ever sentiment is from the Birthday Blossoms and was stamped
off to the right hand side of the smallest die cut. I stamped three
flowers from the Petite Petals stamp set and three from the Pictogram
Punches stamp set. They were all punched out using the corresponding
punches.
I
stamped Happy Birthday To You from the Circle of Spring Stamp Set and
punched it out with the 1″ circle punch and layered it a Whisper White
scalloped circle punched with the 1 1/4″ scalloped circle punch.
All stamping was done with Blushing Bride ink on Whisper White card stock. Finally, I adhered everything together!
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
