I
have just uploaded my video which shows how to do split embossing. I’m
not sure if this is the correct name but it’ll do nicely unless I find
out otherwise. This is the link: Split Embossing.
I
love this technique because it’s easy to do and gives a very classy
look to a card, especially if you use the Arrows Embossing Folder.
During my classes I used the ZigZag Embossing Folder. It was just as
easy to use as Arrows but I wasn’t quite so happy with the results. (Sorry but I don’t appear to have any photographs of that one!)
I
would loved to have been able to use the Happy Heart Embossing Folder. The way it has been designed, it can’t be used for top and bottom
and keep the hearts up the right way, at the same time.
Stampin’ Up! designed Happy Heart
the way it is, so that a card front can be put into the folder and
embossed with the hearts up the right way.
I
kept my wedding card simple and used the For The New Two Stamp Set for
the sentiment and Pictogram Punches for the 3 small flowers.
The banners
were punched out using the Triple Banner Punch which will punch out
banners of any width up to 2″ and, with a bit of a push, above 2″!
If
you’d like to see how, please see my earlier video: Using The Triple Banner Punch
The second card I’m showing here is the first card I made using this technique.
The DSP I used is from the retired Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack. I used it for the layer behind the sentiment, the strips across the end of the embossing as well as both the flowers – from the Flower Shop and Petite Petals Stamp Sets. I used the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies for the sentiment whic is from the Feel Goods Stamp Set.
This really is a great technique and I hope you give it a try. Any questions, please contact me. I’m always happy to help.
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
