I’ve just uploaded my latest video which shows how I made my three Christmas cards using some of our new Designer Series Paper as the view from the window.
I posted one card yesterday and I’ll post the third one tomorrow.
Today’s card is number 2 and this is the link: DSP Thru’ The Window
I decided to make this one for my video as I wasn’t happy with its predecessor, which I’d made using a Basic Black Card Stock card base – see the last photograph, which was taken before I added the cat.
I was happy with the Basic Black but for some reason I’m not too sure of (seemed like a good idea at the time, I suppose! LOL!), I stamped the fir and fir cones onto Basic Grey Card Stock.
It was just so dark I decided to lighten it up by using Basic Grey Card Stock for my card base and Smokey Slate for the window Frame.
I stamped the fir and fir cones on Whisper White Card Stock using our new Basic Black Archival Ink.
I’m really happy with how this card turned out.
In my video, I show how I chose the piece of DSP I used and I applied the same rule to the other two cards.
I wanted the view from the window to look as if the viewer was looking out from the ground floor.
This meant I couldn’t allow tree tops appearing from below the window sill.
I added the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the DSP before I adhered it behind the window.
As well as applying glitter to the trees, I also applied a straight line under each tree so they looked grounded and not floating in the air.
To add a bit of character to the cat, I covered him in using Crystal Effects.
I added the white Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper bow above the window after I had finished the video.
The bow die came from the Balloons Framelits Dies.
For the next three days I’ll be at the Creative Crafts Show at Sandown – do pop over the the Stampin’ Up! stand to say hello if you’re planning to visit.
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
