Unfortunately, despite a lot of determination and perseverance yesterday, hubby wasn’t able to sort out the problem with my videos page! He’s been onto Blogger forums and followed all suggestions that have been put forward but all without success. I’m not sure what his plans are today but I know he hasn’t given up yet!
For yesterday’s Flurry of Wishes project I made some gift bags using the Gift Bag Punch Board and decorated them with the Flurry of Wishes snowflakes. I made three bags altogether and made them all slightly different.
I made the masculine gift bag first using Tip Top Taupe. Before I started my punching and scoring with the Gift Bag Punch Board, I stamped all over the card stock using the second size snowflake and Shara Sand Ink.
I then did the punching and scoring, and adhered the bag together. I assembled the gift bag using the Tearing Tape for the first time and I’m seriously impressed with it – I’m converted!
I stamped the three smallest snowflakes onto Tip Top Taupe card stock using Versamark and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice. I punched the snowflakes out using the Flower Medallion Punch and the Snow Flurry Punch and layered them together with Dimensionals.
I used some Linen Thread to put some loops behind the snowflakes. To close the bag, I used some retired linen trim.
I made a gift tag using Tip Top Taupe Card Stock and the Merry Everything Stamp Set. I heat embossed using Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder. I did one for the sentiment and one for the back which says To and From. I used Tombow to adhere the two together. I punched a hole for the Linen Thread using my 1/8″ Handheld Punch and tied it loosely to the top.
I punched and scored the Mint Macaroon Card Stock for my second bag but before I assembled it, I stamped the largest snowflake onto what would be the front panel of the bag using Versamark and sprinkled it with Iridescent Ice before heat embossing – oh dear, looks like my spell check isn’t working now!
I heated embossed the other three snowflakes and punched them out with the appropriate punches. I adhered them together using Dimensionals and I wrapped some Silver Cord trim between the 3rd and 4th snowflakes.
This is a very popular addition as far as a lot of crafters are concerned. I don’t like it but it worked for the masculine bag so I thought I’d do it again!
I think maybe the cord trim was too thick, I’m not sure. Anyway, I removed it after I had photographed it and I’m much happier with it now! I used our new Dotted Lace Trim with some Silver Cord Trim to thread through the holes to tie the gift bag closed.
I used Whisper White Card Stock for the third gift bag, although I would recommend that you use the Thick Whisper White Card Stock. I say this because I creased the top of this bag as I tied the ribbon. I followed the same process as the Mint Macaroon gift bag but omitted the cord loops, and used Pool Party embossing powder and ribbon. I used one of the beautiful Iced Rhinestones in the centre of the snowflakes.
This is a really quick and easy way to make beautiful gift bags. Enjoy!
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
