I had such a lovely day yesterday.
Not only was I back in my studio, but I also had several telephone calls, which gave me plenty of opportunity to chat and catch up!
My first crafting project of the day was to make a video showing how I made the sparkly Christmas baubles I posted on my blog recently.
I used Smokey Slate – although I kept calling it Smokey Grey! – and, by the time I had finished and added the Dazzling Diamonds, it almost looked like Silver Glimmer Paper!
I don’t know how I managed it but I finished up with an amazing amount of Dazzling Diamonds on my fingers, too!
Watch out for the video, messy fingers and all, tomorrow!
Today’s card is project number one in this week’s challenge.
I have chosen the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder as my challenge – I’ll let you know at the end of the week if it was a good choice or not! LOL!
The depth of the embossing achieved with the folders launched by Stampin’ Up this year has been quite amazing.
To create this card I started with a card base of Tip Top Taupe.
The next layer is Whisper White which I masked so I could stamp the Hardwood stamp (second generation in Tip Top Taupe) in the area I knew would be visible through the circle cut-out.
I created the owl using Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White card stock, as well as Red and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.
I embossed the top layer of Tip Top Taupe using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.
I adhered the two layers to the card base using Tombow glue and I used Dimensionals for the owl.
I made him look as if he is sitting on the entrance to the tree with his feet dangling.
I stamped the sentiment from Flurry of Wishes using Tip Top Taupe Ink onto Whisper White Card Stock.
I punched it out using the Washi Tape Punch then layered it onto a piece of Tip Top Taupe card stock which I had stamped with the Hardwood Stamp using Tip Top Taupe ink.
This was adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.
A cute little fun Christmas card, I think!
Until tomorrow and project number 2, happy crafting.
JanB.
