Hello, Crafters.
Today I shall be at the Gingham Goose Craft Market in the Hayes Village Hall, near Bromley.
It’s one of the best craft markets in and around this area as the regular visitors will testify.
If you live nearby and fancy a day out, (inside to avoid the rain!) do come along – you won’t be disappointed!
Today’s challenge project no 5 is a Curvy Keepsake Box – I will have a limited number on sale at Gingham Goose today.
This project is the first time I have test-driven the new Whisper White A4 Thick Card Stock (#140490) which is 270 gsm.
It’s a great weight and I don’t have any complaints about but I’m very biased towards our normal Whisper White card stock which I absolutely love!
To make my box, I die cut two pieces and adhered them together.
I laid it flat on my work surface and stamped the snowman from the Sparkly Season Stamp Set to the base of each section.
I coloured them using the Real Red, Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie Marker Pens.
Then I embossed some more Thick Card Stock using the Woodland Embossing Folder and sponged it with Sahara Sand Ink.
I fussy-cut some of the trunks and branches.
I adhered one trunk by each snowman sometimes allowing the branch to overlap the snowman as if he is standing just behind the branch.
When I had completed all four sections, I used my two-way Glue Pen and applied glue to the bobbles and cuff on the hat, on the embossed “grooves on the trunks, the branches, the snow mound he’s standing on and finally, I dabbed the pen randomly over the clear space.
You have to work quickly when doing this otherwise the glue will dry before you get to the end.
When it was all done I sprinkled the whole box with Dazzling Diamonds.
Watch out for a video for this project next week!
I love this snowman image and see myself using it a lot over the next three months!
I hope you have a fantastic weekend. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
