Botanicals For You – Sale-a-bration Stamp Set

Uncategorized

21 Dec

Hello, Crafters.

I had an amazingly lazy day yesterday and, barring any unforeseen problems, the next three days should be equally as lazy!

My plan is to make three videos showing how to make shaped cards.

A large part of my day yesterday was taken up with updating my Pinterest account.

It’s now totally up to date and keeping it that way will be part of my New Year’s resolution!

I eventually went into my studio to do some crafting but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do – choices, choices, choices!

I decided on making some Thank You cards.

After great consideration, I decided I’d use one of the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets.

I chose Botanicals For You and decided I’d heat emboss the main sentiment in the set which says JUST FOR YOU.

I checked in the catalogue to see what colour embossing powders are still current because, at one time, there were lots of colours available.

I decided I’d use gold and silver.

So I set myself up with everything I needed but I heard my PC ping so I decided to check to see what it was  before I started.

I noticed on our group on Facebook, one of the other demos has been playing with this stamp set and had used flowers around the sentiment which is exactly what I was planning to do, so it was back to the drawing board for me!

The first attempt was to decorate using punched out stars – see photograph 5.

I did one in gold and one in silver but decided they were OK but nothing special.

The next two I tried were decorated with sequins and again, I thought they were OK but nothing special – see photograph 4!

I had a good look around my studio for anything I could

use instead of stars and sequins but didn’t find anything that inspired me.

I looked at the stamp box and the flowers on there.

Then I noticed the leafy-type stamps and knew they would be just perfect!

I sorted out the Encore Ultimate Metallic Gold and Silver Paints I’d bought when we had them in the catalogue a couple of years ago and was really pleased to find they are both still very moist.

So I stamped the leaf randomly over the card and I’m very pleased with the result!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
