Corrugated Kraft Challenge No. 3

Uncategorized

17 Dec

Hello, Crafters.

On Tuesday evening hubby realised that both our cooler box and our collapsible cooler bag had also been stolen from our garage. We checked on the internet to find the replacement cost for each item and I emailed the insurance company so they’d get it first thing yesterday morning.

By the time I arrived home from work yesterday at 3.30pm, they had already paid the money into my bank account! Our insurance policy is with Marks & Spencer Home Insurance and the insurance company is AXA – a big thank you to you both on such amazing, first class service!

I had a very successful day working for my daughter yesterday and have now finished until next year  – boy, that does sound strange!

I also had a successful afternoon in my studio and made three projects for my Corrugated Kraft challenge! An excellent day all round!

Unfortunately, my photographs today really don’t show what I’ve done to create this card but it looks lovely in real-life!

I dry-embossed a sheet of the Corrugated Paper using the Woodland Embossing Folder. The only part of the embossing you can really see in the photographs are the little horizontal marks on the tree trunks.

I used a white gel pen and drew white lines down the sides of all the embossed lines. I used a Dauber with White Craft Ink and sponged all the branches. I tilted the Dauber to sponge the narrow trunks and I used a cotton bud to do the narrow branches.

I coloured little circles to represent falling snow. As I was doing this, I was paying attention to stay on the raised lines as much as possible.

The card base is our Kraft Card Stock with a layer of Whisper white.

I used Tip Top Taupe ink on Whisper White Card Stock for the sentiment which is from the Oh, What Fun Stamp Set. I added a double bow I’d made using two strands of our Linen Thread.

The snowman is from the Sparkly Seasons Stamp Set. His scarf and hat have been coloured with the Real Red and Cucumber Crush Marker Pens, and his nose was coloured with Pumpkin Pie Marker Pen.

I added Dazzling Diamonds to the cuff around his hat, the pom pom and the mound of snow he’s standing on.

I have hubby at home with me today so today is our “getting ready for Christmas” day! We’re shopping for Christmas food, presents, writing and posting our Christmas cards and wrapping presents. Hopefully by the end of the day, we’ll be delightfully well organised and ready for Christmas…………….which will be a first!! LOL! Last year I was still making Christmas cards on 23rd December!!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
