I hope you’ve had a great weekend.
Today I’m sharing the card we made as a make-n-take at Telford last month.
It’s not really my style but I quite like it and it’s good to try something different every now and then!
I had a quiet laugh to myself when we were given this project!
It’s a greeting card which showcases some of the brilliant new products that’ll be available from 1st. June 2016.
What struck me as funny was that we had to deliberately put the layers on “crooked”!
As you probably know, I struggle to get things straight and I really work hard at finding ways to make life easier for myself e.g. using the stamp-a-ma-jig and the grid sheets and here I am adhering layers deliberately crooked! LOL!
We started with a card base of Mint Macaroon Card Stock and then two layers from the gorgeous NEW Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The floral design is absolutely gorgeous as it has gold accents in and around the flowers and the leaves.
Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to see the first layer as the design is in Mint Macaroon and Crumb Cake and can hardly be seen against the card base.
Photograph 6 shows two sheets of these DSP designs together to illustrate the point.
Today I think I may remake this card but with my colour choices.
Overall, this is a nice design but I don’t think the choice of card stock and DSP is great.
The next layer is a piece of Whisper White which has been dry embossed using the NEW Floral Affection Embossing Folders.
There are two folders in this pack.
Then we used Mint Macaroon and Watermelon Wonder Ink to stamp the leaves and flowers which are from the NEW Love & Affection Stamp Set, around the edge of the embossed Whisper White card stock.
I love the sentiment that was chosen for this card! It’s from the same stamp set as the flowers and leaves and has been stamped in Watermelon Wonder Ink onto some Watermelon Wonder Card Stock.
This morning I have an hospital appointment (nothing serious) and then one at the clinic……….so I won’t be seeing the inside of my studio until after lunch today!
Until tomorrow, happy crafting,
JanB.
