I hope you had a great weekend. We had a delightfully busy day yesterday. First we went and visited our dear friend in Aylesbury. On the way back, our SatNav diverted us as there was a serious hold-up on the M25. It took us quite a bit longer to get back but we were headed to see our son and grandson, so we were happy.
On Saturday, Stephen who’s 15 was taken by his Dad, LD, for his belated birthday treat – driving a Mercedes! They went to Mercedes World which has an area specially designed for under 16’s to drive on. Needless to say Stephen loved it, and according to Dad, did really well especially when he had to steer the car between traffic cones.
Today’s card is the engagement card I made as a special order for my friend last week. The only products I’ve used that aren’t Stampin’ Up! are the card base, the silver ink and the letters.
I took a second card base and cut one half of it to fit as a layer on my card base and then put a layer of our Fancy Foil Vellum on top. (Note: this product is retiring on 31st. May, 2016 – if you want some, you need to get your order in quickly!)
I die cut the heart from the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits using our Silver Foil. Then I used some Encore Ultimate Metallic in Silver and stamped seven large and ten small outline flowers from the Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set. I die cut them using the same set of Thinlits as above.
Then I die cut the letters for Congratulations and Alex & Carly. To get the letters in the correct place, I used one of the dies from the soon-to-be retired Circles Collection Framelits and placed it around the heart. I put all the letters in place, starting with the middle letter and then adhered them with Tombow.
The final touch was to add Pearls to the centres of all the flowers. That’s about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

this is gorgeous Jan.i was recently given some silver card bases with a heart similar to yours cut out of the center. i have looked and looked at them and nothing would come to mind what to do with them. your card is just perfect for them so hope you don't mind if i copy a bit of your design. thanks so much.
Hi, Pearl. I'm always more than happy if crafters CASE part or all of my cards, so please go for it. ☺ Maybe you'll share it once you've made it, please? ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
