Yesterday, hubby and I were asked by Vicki if we could have our grandchildren, Jack and Molly for the weekend of 23 – 25th September because she’s planning to do the 3-Peaks Challenge with a friend from Church – they’ll be walking not running! And of course, we said we’d be delighted to have Jack and Molly with us.
Yesterday I decided to have a go at using a stamp block as a stamp. I’ve seen this technique done before and like so many others, it looked easy! I’m going to have another go today but this time I’ll go for the easy options!
One of the problems I had was caused by doing three stamp blocks in a row. I suppose, given that I struggle with straight lines, it wasn’t one of my best ideas but I’d started, so I’d finish!
The next problem was because I used clear mount stamps (I should have chosen photopolymer) and they were nowhere near straight, either.
The way I sorted out these problems for today’s card was by using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for the stamp block stamping as well as the flower pots.
The three flower pots came as one stamp but I cut mine into three separate stamps. (Reminder: by doing this it makes my guarantee on this product with Stampin’ Up! null and void). When I did my cuts, I did (more or less) straight lines so if I want to use them as one stamp legitimate online pharmacy for tramadol again I can put them next to each other in a straight line on a stamp block easily.
I started my card with a Whisper White card base a layer of Cajun Craze Card Stock and then a layer of the Cajun Craze design from the Botanical Gardens Designer Series paper (DSP).
After I had adhered these three layers together, I prepared the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig Template with the three flower pot stamps and the size B Stamp Block.
Using Sahara Sand Ink and my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped the block three times on my Whisper White strip.
I decided I wanted the pot with the flowers in it in the centre, so I prepared that one first.
Using Marker Pens, I painted the pot in Cajun Craze, the leaves in Garden Green and the flowers in Hello Honey. I lined up my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, huffed on my stamp and stamped – perfection!
I repeated the process for the other two pots. I layered the images onto a piece of Cajun Craze and adhered to the card front using Tombow.
Using Cajun Craze Ink and Whisper White Card Stock, I stamped the sentiment from the Guy Greetings Stamp Set. I layered this onto a piece of Cajun Craze and adhered to the card front above the image using Tombow.
I do wonder if I should have framed the individual images with Cajun Craze – do you have any thoughts about this?
That’s about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Framing with Cajun Craze would be a good idea but I love what you did with this card. You do such amazing things and explain it so well. Thanks for all you do.
Many thanks, Doris. I'm so pleased I explain things well when I'm writing. I find it a biggere challenge than videoing! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
i love the look of your card and don't think it needs frames but then if you did put frames it would probably look nice too. cheers Jan
Many thanks, Pearl. In that case I think I'll leave well alone! Thanks for your feedback. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
