Hello, Crafters.
I hope you’re enjoying the weekend.
This
morning I uploaded my Double-Layer Tree Card video onto YouTube.
It’s
one of several projects I’ve made this week using the fabulous Limited
Edition, Thoughtful Branches Stamp Set & Dies Bundle that will be
available between 02-31.08.16 only.
I
had to do a retake when I was making this video which resulted in me
having two spare “tree layers”!
After I’d finished recording the video, I
collected the rest of the cardstock I needed to make another card using
the surplus tree parts!
I changed the card around slightly from the
video version by making it a wedding card.
I positioned the two
birds to face each other, like lovebirds, and I sat them on a Vellum
heart – please see the first two photographs.
Photograph 3 – the
Sweet Sugarplum birthday card is the card I made during the video.
Photograhs 5 & 6 – the
first card I made was the Blushing Bride one.
I loved the idea I’d come
up with on this card but I was disappointed with the sentiment because it looks
off-balance.
Later today I’ll create a new sentiment that I can adhere
on the front of this card to cover what’s there at the moment.
Photograph 4 – the Mint
Macaroon card is the card I made immediately before recording the video.
I always do this, so I can write a list of all the cardstock and
measurements needed for the project, as well position of score lines,
layering die sizes, etc.
Not only does this help me make sure I have
everything ready before I start filming, I also find it very useful to refer back to it when
editing the video.
I also find this record invaluable if I ever need to
refer back to a video – I can frequently find information I need in my
book rather than having to sit and watch a video all the way through!
That’s about it for today. Happy Sunday.
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
Your cards are always so elegant & I love your ideas & your attention to detail. I look forward to your posts and follow you on YouTube.
Many thanks, Karen. I'm so pleased you like my projects and I really appreciate your support with my blog and my YouTube channel. ☺ ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
May I suggest that you provide the actual link to your website on your YouTube videos. The website is there but it doesn't show up as a linked address. Linking it would allow an easier access for anyone viewing you videos.
Hi, Karen. I do put the link in the box below the video. I'm don't know how to put it in the actual video but I'll accept the challenge to find out! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
Once again, Jan, a beautiful and quite elegant card. I love that you have layered the tree and how you have done it to get the best results. Love the corner flourishes also … they really do "make" the over-all such a pleasing finish. Really do prefer that "Guy Greeting" sentiment too, not just for balance, but weight underneath the tree image. Very successful and thanks so much for sharing as always, your learning curves and insights.
Hi, Geraldine. You always say the nicest things, thank you. So pleased you like this project. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
