I
spent so much time yesterday working on the project for tomorrow’s
video, I didn’t actually get round to recording it! So I’m under a
little bit of pressure today to record the video, upload it onto
YouTube, and edit it.
I know from previous experience that it’s best for
me not to use my computer while the video is being uploaded to YouTube. Fortunately, I have an appointment with my manicurist at lunch time, so
that’ll keep me away from my computer for quite a little while!
Today’s
card is another one using the Touches of Texture Stamp Set. When I
started colouring the image, I felt as if I’d coloured it before! I
checked my files – I keep a photocopy of all the cards I make – and I’ve
made at least three others using this image! I obviously like it a lot!
LOL!
I
started my card with a base of Calypso Coral and a layer of Whisper
White. My original plan also included a top layer of the Calypso Coral
leafy design from the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack
but, as frequently happens, my card didn’t develop the way I envisaged. I adhered the layer to the card base using Tombow.
I
stamped the image using Basic Black Archival Ink onto a piece of
Whisper White Cardstock. Using a Blender Pen I coloured the image using
Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi Inks.
I also stamped the bee, which is
from the same stamp set, using Basic Black Archival Ink and painted the
body using my Daffodil Delight Marker Pen. I
inked up the large splatter stamp in Calypso Coral Ink and stamped it
off twice, very firmly, and stamped the third one onto the flower image.
I
die cut the image with the straight cut die no 7 from the Layering Oval
Thinlits Dies. I adhered it to a piece of Calypso Coral using the no 7
scallop die from the same set of Thinlits Dies. I adhered the two
together using Tombow.
I cut a 2″ strip of the Calypso Coral Stripe
Design from the A Little Foxy DSP Stack and punched it using the
Triple Banner Punch. I cut one of the retired White Doilies – they’re a
little bit bigger than the new ones – in half, overlapped them slightly
and adhered them to the Whisper White layer.
Then I adhered the DSP
Banner over the top in the centre and then the image, also positioned in
the centre.
I
stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment, which is from the Barnyard Babies
Stamp Set, onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.
I chose this
sentiment as it fits in the Classic Label Punch beautifully. It needs to
be shortened but that’s fine because it will then layer nicely onto a
piece of Calypso Coral Cardstock that has been punched full size with
this punch. I adhered the two together and then onto the bottom of the
banner using Tombow.
Well,
I have to get my skates on if I’m going to get tomorrow’s video ready
in time. I hope you have a fantastic weekend. Until tomorrow, happy
crafting.
JanB.
