Judi’s Sweet Treat Box Video

Uncategorized

16 Nov

Hello, Crafters.

This morning I posted my video
showing how to make the beautiful swap I received from Judi Hill at Telford on
5th November 2016.

Judi’s website is
kittycatcrafter.co.uk.

The box is such a decent size –
it stands approximately 5” tall and holds some snacks and two teabags.

This could be changed around so it holds a small gift inside the small inner box and the bands on both sides could hold a gift cards or money.

 There are lots of possibilities

When I was working out how to
make this, on my first box, I adhered the inside panels before adhering the
strips!

To get round this, I used Glue
Dots to hold the teabags in placed.

This worked beautifully but the
box definitely looks better with the strips.

As I used a total of five layers,
when it comes to punching the holes, you really do need a Crop-a-dile.

If you don’t have one of these,
I’d suggest die cutting a shape of coordinating cardstock.

For example, you could use one of the stitched, or non-stitched,
or scalloped, circle or oval die or one of the Lots of Labels Framelits.

Then score and fold
in half, adhere half to the box and add a Velcro dot or magnet to the front so
it closes like a handbag.

Another idea is to cut the layers
down to three, by leaving out the white layers and making the Designer Series
paper the same size as the layers you’ve removed!

I still think this may be
difficult to punch holes through using one of our hand held circle
punches.

This is such a versatile project,
I’m sure other crafters will come up with their own variations!

The photograph of the Sweet Treat Box with the sentiment For You on the front is my swap I received from Judi – many thanks, Judi, absolutely love it! ☺

Unfortunately, I’ve been struggling with today’s blog – Firefox keeps crashing!

This has meant I haven’t been able to share as many photographs as I wanted to and I haven’t been able to keep them in order!

As an alternative, I’m going to post them on my Facebook page today and hope I have a better day tomorrow with Firefox!!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
