I
hope you’ve had a great weekend.
Today’s card entailed more fussy
cutting and adhering a total of forty eight berries to the holly! When
all the berries were in place, I painted them with my Clear Wink of
Stella Glitter Pen.
They all felt very sticky so I dusted over them with
my embossing Buddy. This has given the berries a frosted-look! I don’t
know if you can see what I mean in the photographs? See photographs 4 and 6.
To
make today’s card I started with a base of Whisper White Cardstock
(CS), with a layer of Goil Foil and a top layer of Whisper White. I dry
embossed the top layer, landscape mode, using the Softly Falling
Embossing Folder. Then I adhered all three layers together using Tombow.
I
took some scraps of Whisper White CS and wiped over with my Embossing
Buddy. I stamped two bells in Versamark Ink and sprinkled with Gold
Embossing Powder. I heat set using my Heat Tool and, when they had
cooled down, I painted them with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen and
finally, I punched them out using the Bell Punch.
I
took some more scraps of Whisper White CS and, using Basic Black
Archival Ink, I stamped two outline spigs of holly and one outline bow,
both from the Holly Berry Happiness Stamp Set.
I inked the solid Holly
Stamp in Wild Wasabi Ink and stamped inside each outline image. Then I
used Real Red Ink and stamped the solid bow stamp and stamped inside
the outline image. I punched the bow out using the Holly Berry Builder
Punch and fussy cut the holly sprigs.
The
berries are punch outs I’d saved when I had previously die cut the
stocking which has a lot of straight lines and circles on from the
Christmas Stockings Thinlits Dies.
I had a feeling these circles would
come in handy some time – I’m so pleased I saved them! It saved me
having to punch forty eight of them out yesterday! I adhered them with
Tombow in groups of three, painted with Wink of Stella, and then dusted
with my Embossing Buddy.
I
adhered the holly sprigs on the top card layer using Glue Dots and the
bells with Dimensionals. I attached the bow to the top of the bells
using Glue Dots.
The
final step was to die cut NOEL from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies
from Gold Foil. I attached it towards the bottom of the card using
Tombow.
I
finally managed to get Hubby to go to the doctor’s this morning! He’s
been suffering with a cough, cold and sneezing for the past three and a
half weeks. Nothing unduly serious but he has type 2 diabetes.
He was
told the infection is viral therefore no antibiotics but there is
concern about his white blood cell level! So he had a blood test and
will get a call this afternoon if his count is at a level that is cause
for alarm in which case he will be required to attend A&E (Accident
& Emegency) at the local hospital.
Last, but by no means least, I’ve been given the go ahead from my friend Lindsey in Australia, to post a photograph of her Christmas card to me, which inspired me to make the card I shared here on Saturday. Thanks, Lindsey. ☺
(Note: the products used by Lindsey are not Stampin’ Up! products).
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a great week. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB.
