Peekaboo Card video

Uncategorized

15 Jan

Hello, Crafters.

This morning I uploaded my video showing how to make a
peekaboo card.
I was asked to make one by one of my subscribers from the US quite sometime ago.

I have to say it really was a challenge, largely because I
kept getting confused with all the paper pieces needed!
In the end, I called each piece
of coloured cardstock (CS) as piece 1, piece 2, and piece 3.
Then I labelled
the two pieces of Carried Away Designer Series Paper (DSP) as piece 1 and piece
2; and then with the three pieces of Whisper White CS, I called them
piece 1, piece 2, and piece 3.
This made it plain sailing.

This project does use a lot of cardstock so I have shared
four photographs at the end here to show how to waste the least amount of CS and DSP.

After I’d finished making the video, I worked on the Mint
Green card to make it a birthday card for my granddaughter Molly, who’ll be
celebrating her 13th birthday on 31st January.
Her real birthday is on 31st
December but when she was very young she agreed to move it forward a month so she
could invite her school friends to her birthday party!
(Here in the UK,
schoolchildren are on school holiday for a couple of weeks after Christmas!)
Although this is no longer an issue, she still counts 31st January as her
birthday!

I die cut Molly’s name using the Large Letters Framelits and
painted over them with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.
I also painted the
scalloped frames around the three circle windows!
I die cut one of the large balloons and cut the liners to fit behind.

When I adhered it onto the white section, I covered up the small stamped balloon.

Once I arrived at this point I couldn’t decide where I wanted the 13 to go, so I called it a night.

As I’m sitting here writing my blog, I’m thinking I might put it on the large die cut balloon but I think they may be too big!

I’d also like to add some bling to the front of the card but haven’t decided on how, what and where!

I wish you a happy Sunday and until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.

Hi, Seletta. I'm glad you like this card. When I first started learning different techniques, the two people I learned most from are Frenchie and Dawn Griffiths! ☺ Happy crafting! JanB.

Wow! What a super card project! Not too sure that I'll be attempting this one anytime soon, however, but it strikes me just how absolutely perfect it is for this balloon image set. Like you, Jan, love that Happy Birthday font! Great job on the video too!!

Hi, Geraldine. I must say that it was quite a challenge, but well worth it for someone special. Initially, I found it very easy to get confused about which piece goes where, until I developed my failsafe plan! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

Hi, Pitney. I think that's why I talk to myself so much! LOL! With written instructions, if I find the instructions are a bit testing, I say it out loud. Frequently, it seems to be a bit easier to understand! But I am so pleased my videos are a big help to you – that's certainly the way I prefer to learn (as opposed to witten instructions). ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

Wow, what a terrific card. It is a lot of work but so beautiful in the end. I know Molly will love it. You do a wonderful job explaining the steps. Thank you for doing the video.
