That’s the Tag Bundle

Uncategorized

19 Jan
Hello, Crafters.
As I was putting away the dies I used for my hot air
balloons on Monday, I saw the Timeless Tags Thinlits Dies which I haven’t used
yet.

I don’t know if I’m alone in this, but sometimes I buy things that don’t
actually get used! Nooo!!
That’s where the inspiration for today’s card came from.
The
idea to use the envelope paper (EP) was inspired by two things.
First, I received
a lovely thank you card from a friend in Australia and Lindsey had used some 2016
– 2018 EP for matting.

I chose to use Watermelon Wonder, which is from the 2015 –
2017 InColours EP, because these colours will be retiring at the end of May, and I want to use the out going colours so I can make room for the new colours!

I started by die cutting one of everything from
the Timeless Tags Thinlits dies and laying them out in front of me.
Then I looked
at the That’s the Tag Stamp Set in the Spring catalogue to see how Stampin’
Up! had used the bundle. I was off!

I stamped the dotted oval twice, then die cut them and I also
die cut the no. 3 Stitched Shape Oval Framelit Die.

On the tag with the dotted
line, I die cut the curve of leaves and on the stitched oval I die cut the line
of butterflies.
I rejected these because they looked too busy with the
decorative edging on them – see the last photograph.
I’ve one stamped tag that I’ll use for stamping
an image on and maybe adding a 3D butterfly or flower but I certainly won’t be die cutting the curve – they just didn’t go well together!

Once I found the no. 3 stitched oval didn’t work, I die cut
two no. 4 stitched ovals, and then die cut the leaves from one and butterflies from the
other.
I was really very pleased with the result because they were an ideal
size to make my cards with.

I die cut the curves from the two plain die cut tags and
they fitted beautifully, too.
Five of these cards and five of the co-ordinating
tags, in a co-ordinating divided box would make an excellent Thank You gift for
someone! (Oh! Maybe a video!)

To make today’s card I started with a base of Watermelon
Wonder Cardstock (CS), a layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of the Watermelon
Wonder Woodgrain EP from the 2015 – 2017 InColours EP.
I adhered the three
pieces together using Tombow.

Using Whisper White CS, I die cut a no. 4 Stitched Shape oval
and die cut a curve from one end.
Then I used Basic Black Archival Ink and
stamped the sentiment more or less in the centre.
On a scrap of Whisper White CS
I stamped the small flower, with two leaves and coloured them in using my
marker pens.
The colours I used are Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush, and
Watermelon Wonder.
I die cut the flowers and adhered them into position using
Tombow.
Then I adhered the image to my card front, again, using Tombow.

I made the gift tags in more or less the same way and added
some Watermelon Wonder Lace that is now retired.
I lined the inside of the card
with a layer of Whisper White CS and stamped the small flower, which I then
painted as before.
My final touch was to paint the centre of each flower with the
Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

This was a really lovely collecton of dies and I thoroughly
enjoyed working with all the different elements.
Yesterday I had four new mini storage towers
for my desk delivered – that’s my first job today, a major overhaul of my
working space! Must go and get started!

That’s it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
