Bloomin Heart

Uncategorized

23 Feb

Hello, Crafters.

I had
an absolutely fabulous time with my daughter yesterday, shopping for
her wedding dress.

Vicki knew what she was looking but none of the
dresses she tried on fuffilled all the requirements.

But she persevered
with the help of a very professional young lady who really knew her
business.

Vicki had one more dress to try, and by the time Lauren had
finished adding “extras” to the dress, this was the one!

Vicki looked
stunning! The dress needs to be taken in a bit, but nothing major.

What a
fabulous day we had together – to be treasured for ever!

I
spent a little time in my studio yesterday evening creating today’s
card.

One day last week, I said I was challenging myself to try and use
some of the die cuts, stamped images and punched shapes that I have
filed in my colour coded Ziploc bags, that have been made previously but
not used.

Today’s card is one of those.

I
started with a card base of Pool Party Cardstock (CS) with a layer of
Shimmery White CS and a top layer of Serene Scenery Designer Series
Paper (DSP) Stack.

The Dazzling Details Glimmer Paper heart had
previously been die cut using the Bloomin Hearts Thinlits Dies.

I
inked the Happy Anniversary stamp from the So In Love Stamp Set in
Versamark, then in Pool Party Ink and stamped it at the bottom of the
DSP layer.

I dipped it into Clear Embossing Powder and then heat set it.

I
adhered the top two layers together and wrapped a piece of the Pool
Party 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around and tied a bow at the front.

I
slid the ribbon into position and then adhered the layer onto the card
front.

I used Tombow to adhere the heart to the top of the card front.

I
used some scraps of Whisper White CS with Pool Party ink, and stamped 2
large outline and three small outline stamps from the Bloomin’ Love Stamp
Set.

I die cut them using the same set of Thinlits as before and
adhered them to the heart using Glue Dots.

Then I adhered Basic
Rhinstones in the centre of each paper flower.

I finished the front of
the card off by adding a row of five Rhinestones on either side of the
sentiment.

I
took a sheet of Shimmery White CS to the inside of the card, and
stamped four images of the small bouquet stamp from the same stamp set.

Now
I have to get myself organised for the two-day Make It Show that starts
in Farnborough tomorrow.

I hope Storm Doris has blown itself out by
tomorrow as the Show is held in a very large aircraft hangar, and there
has been at least one previous occasion where the organisers have
closed the show because of high winds.

Apparently, it was very scary for
those inside at the time!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting,

JanB.

Hello Jan, I love all your cards, boxes etc and spend hours on YouTube getting inspiration.
I, too, hope that the weather improves for the Make It Show, one I usually attend but knee replacement surgery means I can't go this year. I was there when the show was closed last time due to bad weather. Luckily I had spent all my money! Wishing you all the best, Jennie

Hi, Jennie. We were turned away that last time, just as we were approaching the venue, on the Sunday morning! Apparently it was scary to be inside the previous day! I'm sorry you can't make the show this year, but I wish you a speedy and complete recovery from your knee op! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

Hi, Pearl. Yes, I will never forget the look on Vicki's face every time Lauren pulled the curtain back to reveal her in another dress! I felt my heart would explode! ☺ Happy crafting. JanB.
