Coffee Cup Treat Box

Uncategorized

13 Aug

Hello, Crafters.

Earlier
today, I posted video no 303 Coffee Cup Treat Holder. I first saw the
idea on Pinterest by Cards and a Cuppa and also by Chic’n’scratch.

Although the basic idea is the same for all three of us, we have all made our boxes in totally different ways!

It’s
such a quick and easy project, and can be achieved quite easily without a Big Shot Machine. The shapes I’ve stamped
have corresponding Framelits to die cut them, but it would be very easy to
cut the shapes out freehand, because all the shapes are fairly basic
shapes.

There
wasn’t much room to play with the size of the box, because it had to
fit behind the coffee cup! When I’d made my first box I popped two
Ferrero Rocher Chocolates inside, but I did need to give them a gentle
push!

Needless to say, this meant they weren’t easy to retrieve from
inside the box when I wanted to take them out! I gave the box a gentle flick by way of encouragement
but I was too gentle!

I tried again and exerted a bit more force and
chocolate number one exited the box – that was the easy one! I tried to
flick chocolate number two but this was the obstinate one! I tried a
harder flick but no joy, so I tried a much harder flick!

This time the
chocolate exited the box so quickly, it knocked over my near-empty
bottle of Stampin’ Mist which I had sitting on my desk!

Obviously, this was a serious design fault that
needed remedying. Hence the idea of the ribbon, which turned out to be
not only practical but pretty, too!

If you look at the bottom of the coffee cups, you can see where I cut a straight line across to stop the cup rocking from side to side! This is a great little project and I hope you give it a go!

I wish you all a happy Sunday, and until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.

Just love your sweet coffee cup treats! I make small feats like this for the oncology nurses who were so kind to me in 2015 during chemotherapy. They just love these little surpises! Thanks for sharing, Jan.

While I am not a coffee drinker, I absolutely love what you've done with this project; it's just delightful Jan. And it really IS a cute set, isn't it? It's just delightful watching you on video like this … it's like being in your classroom! So real! I always come away inspired, no matter what! Such a cute little treat box to share! Thanks for sharing it with us!
