Lovely Friends & Lovely Laurel

Uncategorized

14 Aug

Hello, Crafters.

I hope you had a great weekend. I have woken today feeling very positive and determined to get back to my regular routine!

I
have a great start with today’s card which I made using the Lovely
Friends Stamp Set and the co-ordinating Lovely Loaurel Thinlits.

When
I started this card, the only idea I had in my mind was to use the
“wreath”. Is this still called a wreath even when it’s not a continuous
circle or shape?

After
I’d die cut both parts of the laurel in Pear Pizzazz Cardstock (CS), I
used one of the small “heart” stamps, and stamped in the top corners of
every shape I thought was a leaf.

It wasn’t until I’d finishred my card
and was tidying up that I saw there were two heart stamps in the set,
the one I missed was larger. Never mind, although it would have neen
nice to have used both sizes, it’s not a huge detail and I will know for
next time!

Using
some scraps of Whisper White CS, I stamped three large and three small
outline flower stamps using Berry Burst Ink. Later I went back and
stamped a fourth small flower for the front of the card and a fourth large
flower for the inside of the card.

These flowers are two-step stamping,
so I inked the second stamp in Berry Burst Ink and stamped off quite
heavily before stamping onto my outline flowers. Then I die cut all the
flowers.

I wanted to finish the centre of the flowers and decided to
adhere some punched Gold Foil dots – one for each small flower and four
for each large flower. I used the small circle on the Cookie Cutter
Builder Punch to get some some good sized circles.

To make my card, I
used a Whisper White CS card base, with a layer of Berry Burst CS plus a
top layer of Whisper White CS. I embossed this top layer using the
Dynamic TIEF called Ruffled.

I removed the end tabs from the two laurel
die cuts and adhered them to the top layer of my card using Tombow.

I put
Dimensionals on the backs of all the flowers and played around with
various arrangements until I was happy with the overall look. When I was happy, I adhered
all the flowers in position.

Using Berry Burst Ink on Whisper White CS, I
stamped the sentiment from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set. I
punched it out using the Pretty Label Punch, and adhered it in the centre
of my card front using Dimensionals.

To
finish my card, I added a layer of Berry Burst CS and a Whisper White
CS layer inside my card. I stamped two of the double leaf sprigs from
the stamp set, and then adhered the fourth large flower on top but
slightly offset.

The
first job on my list for today, is to finish off getting myself
straight in my office and my studio. I made a start on my studio
yesterday and made great strides, so I’ll carry on from where I left off.

I
want to get this chore over and done with ASAP as I know what my project for
my Wednesday video is going to be, and I really want to make a start on
it! That’ll keep me motivated to get my chores completed today!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.
