I
love these solid stamps that just scream out to be heat embossed!
In the new Christmas Catalogue – AKA Autumn/Winter Catalogue – there is a fabulous pack of specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) called Year of Cheer Specialty DSP, which compliments the colours of our Embossing Powders beautifully.
I decided to go with the Copper Embossing Powder, and the
DSP design that went with it best, which is the design with the copper leaves.
I started with a card base of Whisper
White (CS), then a layer of Copper Foil and a top layer of Year od
Cheer DSP.
I adhered them together using Tombow.
I
took two pieces of Whisper White CS and wiped over them both with my
Embossing Buddy to remove any finger marks or static.
I stamped the
Three Wise Men from the Wise Men from Afar Stamp Set onto one piece of
CS using Versamark.
I sprinkled it with Copper Embossing Powder, and
used my Heat Tool to heat set it.
I never get tired of watching
Embossing Powder tansform into a metal-like surface when it’s under the Heat Tool! Just so clever!
I die cut the image
using a Stitched Shape Square Framelit Dies, and layered it onto a slightly
larger square of Copper Foil that I had die cut using a straight cut die
from the Layering Squares Framelits Dies.
I
went through the same process for the MERRY CHRISTMAS sentiment which
is from the Merry Mistletoe Stamp Set in the annual ctalogue.
I
adhered the image and the sentiment onto the card front using
Dimensionals.
I
was hoping to be able to use the Copper Trim on my card, but I knew it
wouldn’t work with the DSP I chose to use.
As soon as the image and
sentiment were in place, it was as crowded as it was going to get!
To
complete my card I cut a layer of Copper Foil and a top layer of
Whisper White CS.
Before I adhered them together, I wiped over the
Whisper White layer with my Embossing Buddy to remove any finger marks
or static as before.
I stamped the small palm tree and star from the Wise Men from
Afar
Stamp Set onto the Whisper White CS using Versamark.
I sprinkled it with
Copper Embossing Powder, and used my Heat Tool to heat set it with my
Heat Tool.
Then I adhered these two layers inside my card.
This was a very simple card to mak, but I think it’s very striking!
You're right! It's absolutely stunningly beautiful in it's imagery and simplicity! Love it!! (Love that stamp set!) TFS
