Double Z Birthday Card Video

Uncategorized

21 Jan

Hello, Crafters.

This morning I uploaded my video which shows how to make the Double Z Card I shared with you yesterday.

You
may remember I wrote in my blog that I could have added a flower on the
front section, although I didn’t specify a particular flower or exactly
where.

Before
making the video, I made another card without adding the dotty
stamping, but by adding three flowers on the first section instead.

I
was really pleased with the result because I felt the three flowers
helped balance the whole card, and made the dotty stamps unnecesary.

The flowers I stamped, coloured and fussy cut are the same as the flower in the third section.

I’ll
be interested to know what you think i.e. do you think the card is
better with the dotty stamps, or do you agree with me that the flowers
balance the card.

That’s it from me today. I hope you have a lovely Sunday, and until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.

I think I prefer the card in the video. Of course both are beautiful, but the one with the three dots tend to be a little busy.

Hi, Lawanda. I agree with you, I think the one without the dots looks a lot "cleaner"! Many thanks for your feedback. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

Yes, Jan … I agree, the flowers are enough without the dots. You do have a good eye for this. Also, once you have your Stamparatus, the difficulties you were experiencing with stamping that particular sentiment will be a thing of the past; you'll simply be able to re-stamp until you are happy with it … and once you get used to using it, I can almost guarantee, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it! Lol. Your card turned out just beautifully, and I'm so pleased that the Lemon Lime Twist eventually won you over! It certainly pairs up beautifully with the DSP you chose for this card!! TFS!

Hi, Geraldine. One of the advantages – or disadvantages – of the cards I share on my blog, is that they are my "first" makes! Unless it's accompanied by a video, there hasn't been any going back to the drawing board to tweak this or tweak that. I am looking forward to my Stamparatus arriving. I'm sure you're right, once I start using it, I'll wonder how I ever got by without it! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

    Hi Jan,
The Double Z birthday cards are a nice new style I would like to try. I think the dotty stamp is nice attempt at picking up a pattern if you are carrying out a theme. Both of the two styles you completed were nice. Thanks for sharing your ideas!

Hi, VJ. I hadn't consciously noticed that I was carrying on the theme of the dots until you pointed it out, but I see what you mean! I'm glad you like today's project. I have pleasure in entering you in for my special January 2018 Prize Draw. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

Hi Jan! I very closely follow all your videos on Youtube….you are one of my most favorites to watch! It's a shame I can't shop with you….I'm in the US! I love how this video showcases your 3 versions of this card. I love the "dots" on the first one as the shape mirrors the DSP pattern. Then the 3 flowers you cut out on the other 2 cards mirrors the flowers on that DSP, so I think all 3 work wonderfully! Enjoyed hearing about your times in London, as well. I've been fortunate to visit London twice in my life and adore it there…can't wait to return again sometime! Cheerio!

Hi, Penny. I appreciate that you'd like to show your support to me by shopping in my online store – many thanks. I'd love to be able to say I had planned the mirroring, but it was more luck than judgement! ☺ I have pleasure in entering you in for my special January 2018 Prize Draw. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

Wow, both are soooooooo cute but I liked the one a tad better with the flowers added instead of the dots. Thanks for sharing and showing. Donna Sicafuse

I like them all, even without the dots or the extra flowers. Really helpful, aren't I?
