hope you’ve had a great weekend.
Yesterday I said in my blog that I was
going to look at all my stamp sets that I haven’t used yet, and will work
my way through them, making sure I do use them!
I should have said “products” I haven’t used yet ,
because I was tidying my desk yesterday, and came across the Sweet Soiree
I’m not sure why I bought this because I’m not into
toppers, but buy it I did, and therefore I have to use it!
I used my Marina
Mist, Wild Wasabi and Island Indigo Marker Pens to paint on the reverse
of the images so I didn’t feel I was using just toppers.
At the moment I
have no idea what kind of cards I can make using the coloured images, which are in fact toppers, but I’ll worry about that when the time comes! LOL!
well as the flower and leaves image, I also painted one of the long
stems of leaves plus a stem of three bluebells; fortunately no fussy
cutting inolved with these images!
NOTE: The fabulous Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder is only available as a bundle with the Blooming Basket Weave Stamp Set, as a free gift for an order of €120/£90 during Sale-a-bration which ends on 31st March 2018!
I took a 1″ wide strip
of Whisper White CS, and stamped the long Happy Birthday sentiment from
the Cake Soiree Stamp Set in Marina Mist Ink.
In the meantime, I worked
out where I’d be positioning the vellum images, so I’d know where to
adhere the sentiment, which is exactly what I did using Tombow.
For some reason, the tiny bits of Dimensionals just did not want to
adhere at the back of the flowers and leaves.
In the end, I only succeeded if I held the small piece of Dimensional with my tweezers by holding
onto the sides of the Dimensional, not the top nor the bottom!
I put my tweezers where I
wanted the Dimensional to go, and used a finger on my left hand to push
the flower/leaf onto the Dimensional and the Dimensional onto the
When it was in position, I held my finger on top and
removed my tweezers.
All’s well that end’s well!
I can only assume that the
Marker Pen Ink was still wet/damp when I was trying to apply the
Therefore, if you decide to give this card a try, either
leave the vellum to dry naturally, or carefully dry it with your heat
finish the front of the card I added one Clear Faceted Gem to the
centre of the largest flower and one each end of the sentiment.
I coloured another group of flowers the
same as those on the front of the card, and adhered it in the bottom
The last photograph is a close up so you can see how much the Fine Tip Glue shows through the vellum; it’s not enough to worry me, but you may not be happy with it.
It’s the ready coloured ones that
are going to be a challenge for me, but my brain is already working on
It can’t be that difficult, I just feel it’s cheating, because I haven’t created the images!
As always, until tomorrow, happy crafting.
