Hello, Crafters.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend.

When
I went down to Peacehaven on Saturday, Hubby came with me, and when I
was about to start my class he took himself off to see Peacehaven and
the surrounding area.

Peacehaven is an excellent name for this very
quiet coastal town that is without the normal attractions you often find
at seaside towns like piers, fun fairs etc.

Hubby spent part of his day
on a long walk along the seafront enjoying the sights, sounds of the
sea, and the peacefulness, which is Peacehaven.

I’m really pleased to
say that he thoroughly enjoyed himself, and found it very relaxing.

It
was a great day for  both of us. ☺

I
created today’s card using the photopolymer Lovely Friends Stamp Set,
which includes two large sentiments that become the focal point of a
card.

I chose to use the largest one, but it was a toss up between the two of them!

The words for the other sentiment are YOU
MAKE ME RIDICULOUSLY HAPPY.

I
stamped the sentiment using Basic Grey Archival Ink, and then I stamped
over it again using Versamark, covered it with Clear Embossing Powder
and heat set it.

The shine doesn’t show up in the photographs, but in
real life it’s brilliant.

When
my Stamparatus first arrived I said that I wouldn’t be using it for
projects until it was available to everyone, which will be when the new
catalogue goes live on 1st June 2018.

However,
on Friday, crafters who ordered theirs during the second pre-order
window, received an email from Stampin’ Up! telling them the
Stamparatus’ are ready to be despatched.

I have been very pleasantly
surprised at how many customers have ordered them.

So I am changing my
mind about not using my Stamparatus just yet.

I’m going to play it by
ear to decide how I’m going ahead with this.

For
today’s project, I used the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiment in Basic
Grey Archival Ink, and then I cleaned the stamp and re-stamped using
Versamark.

I allowed myself to do this because this technique can also
be done using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.

If you don’t have either of these
tools, you could stamp the sentiment and heat emboss it using any of our
Classic Inks.

If you’re not sure how this is done, please check out  my video no. 368 called Heat Embossing with SU colours. This is the link: Video No. 368 – Heat Embossing with SU Inks.

I hope you understand where I’m coming from on the
Stamparatus position.

Back
to my card! Using Sweet Sugarplum Ink, I stamped both the large and
small two-step flowers to decorate the front of my card.

Before I
adhered them down using Dimensionals, I used Emerald Envy Ink, stamped
off once, to stamp some of leaves in opposite corners.

I added large Basic
Pearls in the centre of the large flowers, and smaller ones for the
small flowers.

Next I decorated the inside of the card by stamping more
leaves, and adhering three more large flowers.

One
of the ladies in my team Maire, said to me last week that this was a
beautiful stamp set, and makes really great cards.

You’re right
Maire, many thanks for this, I’m really pleased with how my card turned out! ☺

Thats about it for me today. I hope you have a great day, and until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB.

What a fantastic card Jan and wow what a sentiment. I love large sentiments but I don't think I have seen a sentiment as large as this before. It practically fills the front panel of the card. As far as the Stamparatus is concerned Jan, if viewers haven't got a Stamparatus, they may still own a stamp positioning tool and you could always give tips to how to use other tools to create the same effect. I haven't ordered a Stamparatus because my hubby bought me a stamp positioning tool, it is not as good as a Stamparatus because obviously SU were very clever at waiting until a lot of different designs were on the market and taking the best from each of the designs and adding extra of their own making the Stamparatus I would say a leader in the Stamp positioning tools on the market.
