If a colour shouts out Spring, yellow shouts the loudest!
It isn’t one of my colours, but as I look at my card I ask, why not?
Petal
Palette is my favourite bundle in the Spring/Summer catalogue, and the
large stamp of three roses with leaves, is my favourite stamp in the set.
I stamped the image
on to a piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock (CS) using Tuxedo Black Memento
Ink.
Then I used the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and Old Olive
Stampin’ Blends to colour the image, all the time thinking what can I do
with this image that’s different!
I
started my card with a base of Whisper White CS, then a layer of Daffodil
Delight CS, and a top layer of one of the designs in the Sale-a-bration Second
Release Gift, Springtime Foils Designer Series Paper (DSP).
Using the
Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend I coloured all the leaves on the DSP.
When they were all coloured, I fussy cut the three yellow roses and played
around with positioning them.
I was trying to decide if three roses would be enough, or
whether I should do another three.
In the meantime, I stamped my chosen sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on to a piece of Thick Whisper
White CS.
I coloured the partial flower with the Light and Dark Daffodil
Delight Stampin’ Blends.
I die cut the sentiment using the second
Stitched Shape Framelits Circle Die, and used the third die to cut a
Daffodil Delight CS circle to layer the sentiment on.
After I adhered some
Dimensionals on the back of the sentiment, I position it in the top right-and
corner.
I found a tiny yellow-painted pearl in my box, and adhered it
to the partial flower, as well as three unpainted Basic Pearls in a line
under the sentiment.
After adhering Dimensionals to the backs of the
roses, I finally placed them in the positions I decided looked best.
I
painted three basic Rhinestones using the Dark Daffodil Delight
Stampin’ Blends, and adhered one in the centre of each rose.
To
decorate the inside of the card I added a layer of Daffodil Delight CS,
and then a top layer of Whisper White CS.
After stamping one of the
small flower images, from the stamp set, in the bottom right-hand corner, I
painted the image in the same style I used for the roses on the front of
the card.
At first, when I finished making today’s card, I wasn’t sure if I
liked it, but I’m pleased to say it’s growing on me!
That’s about it from me today, so until tomorrow, happy crafting.
