Hello, Crafters.
Hubby and I had a very successful day shopping on Wednesday, and
we enjoyed a superb lunch in a new Lebanese restaurant. Neither
of us felt we over-indulged, but we only managed a snack
in the evening! We’ll certainly be dining there again!
I had a bit of a panic yesterday when I worked out how much I
have to do before we go to Alaska on the 19th! The total was
nine videos, 26 card-front swaps and 26 3D swaps. I’ll get the
swaps done but all those videos?
I think it’s unlikely! But you know me! Watch this space!
Today’s card is another Topsy card! It just grew, but unfortunately
it’s finished up over-grown! I’m happy with each of the individual
elements but I shouldn’t have used them all.
I chose Blushing Bride and Smokey Slate as my colour scheme, and
Follow Your Dreams Stamp Set with the co-ordinating dies called
Chase Your Dreams. I stamped and die-cut the dream-catcher on Whisper
White Cardstock (CS) using Blushing Bride Ink, and I also die-cut
the detailed dream-catcher using Blushing Bride CS.
I did some fussy cutting, on the image stamped on Whisper
White CS, in-between the strips of rope, ribbon and cord hanging
down from the dream-catcher. It wasn’t difficult, but I did have
to be very careful once I’d cut up on both sides of the ropes,
ribbon and cord to make sure I didn’t cut one of them off!
I think it greatly improved the look of this image, and I’d certainly do
it again! Next, using Stazon Ink, I stamped the little stamp of the
curved row of flowers. I coloured them using Blushing Bride,
Smokey Slate, Daffodil Delight, and Granny Apple Green Marker Pens.
It was at this stage, I wondered if the dream catchers would look better
in Smokey Slate, so I went through the same process again.
I also stamped and coloured two more strips of flowers, and I started
playing with various arrangements of the images, some pink, some
grey until I finished up with today’s card! As I’m writing my blog, I
have the card standing on a little shelf I have on my desk, right in
front of me. The more I look at it, the more I’m convinced that I
should have left off the large Blushing Bride and Smokey Slate ovals!
It’s such a shame that Blogger haven’t found a fix to the problem of
viewers not being able to leave comments below my blog, because
I would haveliked your feedback about today’s card! Still never
mind, I’m sure they’ll get it sorted out soon!
BTW The little grey flower in the centre of the dream-catcher is from
the stamp of three flowers in the Pop of Petals Stamp Set.
In the meantime, that’s about it from me today.
Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

Oh, I don't know … sometimes there's a time and a place for "over the top" Jan … I love it! I really do! And I should know about the over-the-top thing, as I tend to do it quite often myself … and years ago, my decorating style tended to be the "cluttered" look, albeit tastefully so if I do say so myself, but … no, I wouldn't worry at all about this … it's truly quite lovely and the colours look great on my little screen too. Just try to pace yourself, and if it doesn't all get done, we'll all manage just fine too. Happy weekend!!
I think this card is absolutely stunning Jan but you are the expert card crafter so I am probably wrong in my way of thinking. :O)
