Hello, Crafters.
It’s my birthday today, and our son and his partner Sasha, have
invited us over for dinner this evening. I can’t remember the last
time we celebrated my birthday with others on the actual
day, so I’m super excited!
Today’s video shows how to heat emboss die-cuts using three
layers of Clear Embossing Powder to get a really super shine. The
tricky part is not to touch the front with your fingers, and in the
video I show you how I do it.
It’s not a brilliant idea working on a technique like this
when the weather is so hot, because I have a ceiling fan above
my head, whirring away keeping me very comfortable! Needless to
say it caused a thin film of embossing powder to cover everything,
but I survived and have everything all cleaned up again! LOL!
The video also shows one idea how you can use the non-picture
designs in the Graceful Glass Designer Vellum Pack. There are
three designs which are ideal as backgrounds for today’s Thank You
card, and they are: Coastal Cabana – diamond shapes, Gorgeous
Grape – sea waves, and the brickwork.
I don’t have any of the brickword design left as I’ve already used
it on other projects as a background. The design I used for the Merry
Merlot card is just too busy. I made the flowers using the Pop of
Petals Stamp Set and the Four Petal Flower punch. The stamp set
and punch are available as a bundle which saves 10%.
The flowers in this set will only fit in the punch one way, so I have
marked on the back of them which way is top. I used some scrap
paper to check each flower individually, but now it’s done,
I won’t have to think about it again. ☺
I now have two videos prepared for while I’m away and I have four
more in the pipeline because I will still need three before I go. If
I keep going at this rate, I might even have one ready for when I
arrive home, too! I love it when a plan comes together.
I hope you have a very blessed Sunday,
and until tomorrow, happy crafting.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAN!! and many happy returns! Do enjoy your birthday dinner and time together with your son and his partner this evening and hope your whole day is really enjoyable and "special" … the card is lovely; appreciate being able to see the new colours and of course, any of the new stamp sets and dies too! Thanks for a great video … this is a lovely technique, and one I especially love to use around Christmas! Love and blessings on your special day, dear friend! 💕
A great card design Jan, thank you for sharing this with us crafters. The technique of the heat embossing the die cut sentiment more than once is really worth while and the way you got the centres of your flowers raised too. Rather than glue I would use my glossy accents for this and to get rid of bubbles I use a pin to move these and they will disperse. :O)
