All the Good Things

Uncategorized

1 Oct

Hello, Crafters.

It’s the start of a new Stampin’ Up! and I’m starting it with a fabulous new website! Yesterday was the first real day, and I was all geared-up for the fine-tuning that would need to be done, but there was hardly any! Most of my queries were down to me getting to know WordPress. Many thanks to everyone who has signed up for my monthly email newsletter and/or are following my blog.

Although I thought the All the Good Things Stamp Set was beautiful when I first saw it, I didn’t buy it because I felt there were just a limited amount of designs it could be used for! That was until Karen, a very talented card maker in my team, started using it and she came up with some really stunning designs!

To stamp the koi (?) I mounted the stamp onto my Stamparatus, as a bit of a test really! I guessed that I’d need to use it to get a good depth of colour for a fairly light colour, Grapefruint Grove – I wanted a deep orange without being bright and this fitted the bill brilliantly! The test was to see how easy it was to use the Stamparatus instead of a Stamp-a-ma-jig, which you know is a really good friend of mine! The sentment and the fishare both on the same stamp, so I needed to make sure this stamp was straight. I placed the fish face down on my Whisper White Cardstock (CS) and picked it up on my Stamparatus plate. Next, I carefully lifted the stamp off the plate and eyeballed the sentiment with the lines on the plate. I’m so pleased with the result!

The other stamp sets I used for this card are Sea of Textures for the tall Soft Sea Foam seaweed, and the Sahara Sand gravel on the sea bed. I used the bubbles in You’re Inspiring, and stamped them in Sahara Sand stamped off once.

When I had finished all the stamping, the card looked very flat, so the first thing I did was to paint the koi and the seaweed with my clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. I finished it off by adding some Basic Adhesive-Backed sequins 146933, and topped them with some Faceted Dots 146910. Although they don’t have much Dimension, they certainly do have enough!

For the next seven days Stampin’ Up! are running a seven-day sale to celebrate World Card Making Day. The products that are being reduced includes Dimensionals, Tear & Tape, 12″ x 12″ Whisper White and Very Vanilla Cardstock, Note Cards & Envelopes, kits and stamp sets. Check out the full list and shop here: www.janbcards.stampinup.net

That’s it for me today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

JanB xx
