Hello, Crafters.
We’re making slow progress with my swaps for OnStage, but it is progress nonetheless! I have forty bagged up and ready, and just another twenty to go! Then I can finish off the projects for our craft day, and also team swaps. I feel a lot more relaxed about it all now, than I did this time last week!I decided to use the Dashing Deer Stamp Set for today’s card, which I think is the first time I’ve used any of the deer stamps. I know I used the leaping deer die but that doesn’t have a co-ordinating stamp! I didn’t really have much of an idea what I wanted to do, except that I did want to use the large deer stamp! I love the fabric-looking detail on this stamp! I also liked the look of the strip of leaves and flowers, and I decided to stamp the image top and bottom using Tranquil Tide Ink. Next I needed some red flowers to cover the Tranquil Tide flowers!
When I first received this bundle, as I was setting up the dies folder for filing, I was surprised there wasn’t a die for the single flower stamp in the set. I had assumed the solid flower die – there are three identical dies in this set – would fit the single flower but it doesn’t. I had a play with the different flower dies and settled on a solid die cut as the base of my flower, and then adhere a flower with the cut outs on top. I painted the top part using my clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen. Then I punched some 1/8″ circles of Gold Glimmer Paper for the centres.
I liked the look of my card but then agonised about whether I should leave it without a sentiment or not. This isn’t something I feel particularly comfortable about, because cards look incomplete to me if they don’t have a sentiment. In the end I decided on this very small sentiment which is from the Wishing You Well Stamp Set!
That’s it from me today, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB.

Hi Jan I like the idea of the Deer card. I don’t like the green deer. It does not look quite wright it should be brown or fawn. I love your cards and love making them. I live in Australia and look forward to your cards each day.
Hi, Nina. Yes, I hear where you’re coming from and normally I’d agree with you. As this deer looks like he’s wearing patterned fabric, I decided green to match the leaves would be OK! I’m so pleased you like my cards, and that you make them, too! Many thanks for your support and following me each day. I really appreciate it. Happy crafting, JanB. xx
Jan, love the unique things you do. The deet in the green looks great! It does look like fabric!! So clear and clean! May have to case it! Lovely thinking “out of the box “! Enjoy viewing your cards!
