Hello, Crafters.
Don’t forget the 24-hour Sale today to celebrate the 30th Stampin’ Up! birthday. In case you missed the link to the flyer yesterday, here it is again. In the Europe the time is from 24:00 CET 23.10.18/11:00 pm BST 22.10.18 until 23:50 CET 23.10.18/10:50 pm BST 23.10.18. NOTE: This 24-hour Sale is worldwide, so please check the times in your area with your SU Demonstrator.Yesterday, I spent more time playing with the Santa’s Red Cards & Envelopes. I’ve seen other crafters use the picture of Santa in the armchair and assumed it was from the Memories & More Cards. This is a product I haven’t bought, so my first attempt was fussy cutting Santa sitting in his sleigh. It was very difficult when it came to cut around the frame of the sleigh “runners”. And adhering the image onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock didn’t do anything to improve the look! LOL!
I decided to see if I could die cut some of the images, and I felt as if I’d struck gold! The Designer Series Paper (DSP) I was using is called Santa’s Workshop. The sheet I die cut these images from, including the fussy cut Santa in his sleigh, has two of each image, one facing left and one facing right. The two sleigh images are the same size but the chair images vary in size considerable. Fortunately, there is sufficient gap between most of the images to be able to die cut them using our Layering Dies.
I’m not really into using toppers to make cards, but these images are so cute that I’m enjoying playing with them! The pack of ten 6.25″ x 4.25″ cards and envelopes, and the ten 4.25″ x 3.25″ cards and envelopes could be made into a great gift set! It would also be a great item for crafters who make and sell handmade papercrafts at craft shows. I haven’t decorated inside the cards yet, but I will probably go back and see what other images I can die cut.
I’m also going to see what designs I can come up with for the smaller cards. As far as I can see, the only other pack of DSP that includes Poppy Parade is Animal Expedition, but only in a very small way. I’m going to have to start thinking out of the box and use the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP Stack! Let’s see where that takes me!
That’s about it from me today, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. Happy crafting.
JanB.
