Hello, Crafters.
Today I’ve published my video showing how to make a beautiful divided box. It’s big enough to hold five each of the Snowman Christmas Tags and Snowman Christmas Cards featured in the two previous videos (nos. 425 & 426). These three projects build together to make a fabulous gift. I made two boxes before I made the video because I couldn’t make up my mind what kind of patterned paper design would suit my images.
Before I made the video, I made one box with a design that had the bare minimum of white in it, and for the second box I used a design that had a medium amount of white. I chose to use this design because I wasn’t particularly keen on it! I changed my mind totally when I saw the box fully decorated! The Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack these first two boxes were decorated with is Under the Mistletoe.
The only thing I’m not keen on with pizza boxes is that the sides at either end of the lid tend to stick out more than I like, and I think I’ve accidentally stumbled on a solution! When I was making the third test box, I decided to adhere the divider to the side walls. I’m not sure what made me do it, because I haven’t seen it done before. I just thought it would offer some extra stability to what is a fair sized box. It measures 9″ x 1.5″ x 1.5″. It was after I had adhered the sides down that I noticed the sides of the box didn’t protrude as much as normal.
This box can be used for more than just cards and gift tags. I can imagine the box being used for a soap in the small area and a face cloth in the other; or maybe a bracelet on the right and a necklace on the left. It would be also be easy to add extra dividers in the box to make extra sections. For example, three sections side by side could be small bottles of body lotion, hand cream and talcum powder. There are numerous possibilities.
I hope you’ve enjoyed watching this project build, and maybe give it a try! I think that’s about it for today, so until tomorrow, happy crafting!
JanB.
