Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday, Maire, a lady in my team, who has her own team – called the Potty Crafters – shared some projects her very talented team created for a challenge she set. The results covered a whole range of projects starting with cards, going right through to 3D papercrafting. One of the cards inspired me to create today’s card, because it’s very similar to a card I made using the Wood Textures 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stack. What struck me about the Potty Crafter’s card was that she had left a gap between all the shapes!
When I made my card during the summer, I butted all the edges together. I knew it’d be a bigger challenge to leave a gap in-between each shape. I was right! It took me three attempts to work out how to do it, but I’m so pleased I persevered with it! I restricted the number of designs I chose from the Festive Farmhouse to three, because it eliminates any decision-making regarding which design goes where!
To die-cut the MERRY and CHRISTMAS, I took a piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock (CS), and a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (now replaced with Sparkle Glimmer Paper), and I adhered each piece onto a piece of same-sized Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet (see page 213). Next I die-cut each word, using my Precision Base Plate, and ran them back and forth, turned the position of the die and ran them through twice more. They vacated the dies really easily and I adhered the two Cherry Cobbler CS words to my card front first, and then I adhered the Dazzling Diamonds words on top, and also offset them.
To finish the front of my card I added six wooden stars from the Festive Farmhouse Elements (see page 13), which I then painted with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.I decided to decoarate the inside of the card by adding a strip of Washi Tape from the Suite Season Specialty Washi Tape (see page 24). It’s amazing what a difference leaving the gap between the shapes makes – I love it!
That’s it from me today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB xx
