Today’s the day we finally go up to Birmingham for my team’s Craft Day tomorrow, and the OnStage Convention on Saturday! I can’t believe what a relaxed day it was for me yesterday! I expected to be ultra busy, rushing around like a headless chicken, but nothing of the sort! I finished off the Craft Day projects, and prepared another one just in case we finished early. Next I put together all the goody bags for everyone with all the products they’ll need to complete their projects, plus extras of everything…………….just in case!
I also had time to make a card to share with you today. I wanted to make a card using Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the big snowflake die in the Snowfall Thinlits Dies. This is the set that’s on special promotion this month in the Snowflake Showcase Suite. I also wanted to use Night of Navy as my colour, so checked through my collection of Designer Series Papers (DSP) to see which one had a suitable design. Although I didn’t find anything in Night of Navy, I did find two stunning designs in Blueberry Bliss. I have to confess that I had forgotten that we have this colour, which is an awful shame because it’s a beautifully deep blue – absolutely spot on for what I wanted! The two designs were in the masculine DSP called Best Route.
I used a retired set of dies called Christmas Greetings for the word PEACE. When dies retire, I’m normally happy to let them go, but not if they’re words, letters, numbers, or layering shapes, like hearts, stars, labels etc. To decorate inside the card, I added a strip that’s about one and a half inches wide, and adhered three Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper die cut snowflakes. I found these three in my bag of Glimmer Paper die cuts made but not used, and I cannot remember which set of dies these came from!
I will be posting a blog each day while I’m away, but I’m not sure what I’ll be sharing on Friday morning. On Saturday morning I’ll be sharing the Craft Day projects with you, and on Sunday I’ll be publishing the video of how I made my swaps! So that’s about it for today. I must do my final bit of packing, and then we can hit the road! Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
