Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I challenged myself to CASE a card from the new Spring/Summer Catalogue but make it a Christmas Card. It wasn’t until I started writing my blog today, I realised what a waste of time it was! Well, at least from the point of view that I can’t show you the original card which is inside the new catalogue that I’m not allowed to show online! I won’t be making that blooper again! LOL!
The card was made using products from the All My Love Suite, and had a background of a Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White design from the All My Love Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. It had a contrast strip of DSP under the Whisper White Cardstock (CS) sentiment. What attracted me to this card was that a die from the new Lovely Flowers Edgelits Dies had been used to die cut decorative lines of five small holes to the left and the right – at right angles with each other – on all four corners. There were some die cut flowers arranged in the top left-hand corner of the sentiment to finish the card off.
I started by looking to see if we had any corner dies, and found two fairly large fancy dies in the Detailed Deer Framelits dies but they were too big, so I used them to decorate the inside of my card. This made me decide to use the Dashing Deer Stamp Set for this card, and I stopped looking for any other corner dies!
I used a design from the Joyous Noel DSP for the background and a contrast design for the strip underneath. I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White CS, and then I stamped the strip of leaves and flowers, Above and below the sentiment. I also stamped and die cut the two small deer, which I put in the bottom right-hand corner. All the stamps are from the Dashing Deer Stamp Set, and the dies are from Detailed Deer; both these products are available as a bundle and you will save 10% if you buy the bundle – see page 9 in the Christmas Catalogue. There was a ribbon on the contrast strip of DSP on the CASE’d card so I added a strip of Real Red Cotton Ribbon, which tied in nicely with the die cut flowers – poinsettias! As well as using the die cut corners to decorate the inside of the card, I stamped and die cut two more reindeer. I enjoyed this challenge to myself but feel a tad disappointed I can’t show you the card I CASE’d! Next time I think about casing a card in a different catalogue, I’ll choose the previous one, not the next catalogue!
That’s about it from me today. I hope you enjoy a super relaxing weekend, and until tomorrow, happy crafting!

OH MY Jan, all of your cards are so pretty and well done, and I’ve told other ladies that I love your You Tube videos because you don’t rush thru everything, you take your time and explain step by step what’s needed to be done. You mention that you hope your video isn’t to long well they aren’t I love the fact you talk so calmly and take the time to explain everything. Keep em coming, Marge Dahl, Minnesota USA
Many thanks for your very kind words, Marge, they are very much appreciated. Many thanks for your support. Happy crafting, JanB.xx
