Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I spent most of the day working on the project I’m hoping to feature as my Sunday video. I don’t want to spoil the surprise except to say it’s a fancy fold that I have been requested to make a tutorial! I only found one tutorial featuring this design, unless other crafters have called it by a different name.
Although it took me four attempts to get my card to work the way it should, I’m really pleased with my finished card! By the time I finally finished my card, I was ready for some easy relaxing cardmaking. I decided to make me second card for the Stampin Up! challenge called #simplestamping. I used the same colours as my first card – Real Red and Crumb Cake – largely because the front of the card doesn’t look so stark as a plain white front can do.
I chose to use the Timeless Tidings Stamp set with Call Me Clover Ink. I started by stamping the Christmas tree in the bottom right-hand corner, then the left-hand corner, and finally one in the middle. I stamped the same design again on the piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock (CS) I’d prepared for the inside of the card. Next I stamped the sentiment towards the top, and assembled the outside and the inside layers and adhered them in place.
The front of the card needed some decoration, so I had a rifle through my boxes of gems. I found the very pale coloured, self adhesive sequins, and adhered a Red Rhinestone in the centre of each. I decided to call it a day them, otherwise I would have added other bits and pieces and my card would have finished up anything but simle stamping!
Definitely a card that a new stamper would be pleased to make as their first attempt! Today I’m going to concentrate on making Sunday’s video. If everything goes according to plan, you’ll have a super fancy fold card to look forward to on Sunday!
That’s it from me today! Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
