Hello, Crafters.
When we go to the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Convention, we have the opportunity to order from a restricted list of new products in the 2019 Spring/Summer Catalogue, via the Product Purchase Premiere, PPP for short. My order should arrive this morning, and I’m so, so excited! Not only did I order from the PPP, I also ordered a Craft & Carry Tote Bag which is a supply item, and also the fabulous Craft & Carry Stamparatus Bag, which will be available to customers as from 5th December 2019! When you see it, if you can resist ordering one straightaway, make sure you put it on your Christmas Wishlist, so one of your nearest and dearest can treat you!
Supply items, like the Craft & Carry Tote Bag, are only available to demonstrators to purchase, as they are primarily designed as business aids. However, the Tote Bag is going to be available to customers who join Stampin’ Up! as a hobbyist or business builder demonstrator during Sale-a-bration (SAB) next year. SAB will run from 3rd January – 31st March 2019! I already have three crafters on my list who will be joining my team in January! If you’d like to know more about being either a hobbyist or a business builder demonstrator – and you live in the UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany or Austria, and don’t already have a demonstrator – please give me a no-obligation call on 07889 049539, or email me at janb@janbcards.com
When we were at OnStage, we were challenged to design some “simple stamping” cards which would be ideal for new stampers. This really is a challenge to me because it’s not often I do simple cards! Yesterday I decided to have a go, and chose to use Shaded Spruce as my colour. I wasn’t sure what card I was going to design, but I thought if I went for green, I could bring in a Christmas tree! I picked out my pack of Shaded Spruce Cardstock (CS) and saw two die cut Christmas trees, some stars, and a reindeer.
At this point I forgot about designing a “simple stamping” card, and had an idea in my head how to use these ready-made die cuts! When I made my swaps for OnStage recently, I allowed myself to get carried away when I was embossing the top Whisper White CS layer with the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. I did far more than I needed! I wasn’t unduly worried because I knew that slowly, slowly, I’d use them on other projects. Today was one of those days! The two Christmas trees had been die cut with dies from the In the Woods Framelits, and I’d used a Dauber to sponge all the edges of the smaller tree with our White Craft Ink.
I used Dimensionals that I’d cut into small pieces to adhere the two trees together, and then larger Dimensionals to adhere the tree to the card front. The sentiment I used is from the Beautiful Baubles Stamp Set, and has been stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink. To die cut the sentiment, I used a die from the Storybook Scene Thinlits. I finshed the front of the card with three of the stars and popped a small pearl in the centre of each! To decorate the inside of the card, I added a layer of Shaded Spruce CS and a layer of Whisper White CS. I decorated the bottom right-hand corner with the deer and the three remaining stars.
I might CASE this card and use a plain top layer of Whisper White CS, stamp a Christmas tree, and the sentiment directly onto the card, then I’ll have a “simple stamping” card! That’s about it from me today. Don’t forget tomorrow is the first day of the first 48-hour Online Extravaganza Sale and is for Paper & Embellishments. Check your stash to see if you’re running low on anything and need to top up. I’ll be back tomorrow, and in the meantime, happy crafting.
