Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I decided to make a Christmas card using the owl in the Still Night Stamp Set, but it finished up as a birthday card! I’m not quite sure how that happened, because I had the Christmas sentiment stamped and ready. I’d die cut some fir branches and the main large branch using the Night Owl Thinlits Dies, and adhered the branches to the small branches on the large branch! I wasn’t happy with the overall look, and went back to the beginning again.
I started again and this time I stamped the branch that’s in the stamp set, and perched the owl on it. The owl looked masculine, and my first thought was a masculine Christmas card, but do people ever buy masculine Christmas cards. I suppose they do but personally, I can’t ever remember thinking at any time during my life that I needed a masculine Christmas card so I suppose I automatically changed it to a birthday card. Whatever happened, I’m happy with today’s card because, like most card makers, I struggle with masculine cards. I wanted to add a bit of colour, but couldn’t come up with any ideas that I actually I liked, so I left well alone!
Yesterday, I made the video for tomorrow using the Snowfall Thinlits Dies which are part of the Snowflake Showcase Promotion that’s on until the end of November, or while stocks last! The selection of snowflake dies is really gorgeous. My card is mainly die cut snowflakes, and the only stamping is the sentiment, which I heat embossed using White Embossing Powder. I’ve already uploaded the video, so today I just need to check the video, and get the measurements, and products used, listed.
Early this afternoon, I’m off to get my fortnightly manicure, and I’m planning to change the colour of my nail varnish! Sharon’s going to do two test nails so I can see what black on white, and white on black looks like. If it looks alright and I go for it, it’ll be a one-off. Next Friday, when we go to CentreStage, the day before the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Convention, and the theme is black and white attire! The only thought that’s putting me off from doing this is that I’ll have to live with it for two weeks, before I can go back to my Prima Donna Mauve! LOL!
I hope you have a great weekend, and until tomorrow, happy crafting!
