Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I spent most of my time playing catch-up, but I still found time for crafting! The stamp set is called Amazing Life, and will be available from the new catalogue next week! I think this is a great set, partly because it has some great small stamps. For example it has a corner stamp that I was planning to use yesterday but my creative juices took me in a different direction! It also has a Shamrock plus the sentiment Good Luck, so it’ll be great for St. Patrick’s Day. There’s a three-storey birthday cake, and a sentiment which says “Life’s Too Short To Say No To Cake”! LOL!
My favourite sentiment is the one I’ve used for today’s card – So Happy To Have You In My Life. I heat embossed it using Basic Black Embossing Powder, and coloured it using Stampin’ Blends. Happy has been coloured with Light Lovely Lipstick, and the banner is in Light Smokey Slate. I stamped six of the flower and leaves images, and painted the flowers with Light Lovely Lipstick, and and the leaves with Light Call Me Clover. I went over the leaves two or three times to make the colour deep but not dark. Next I fussy cut all six flowers.
There is a set of dies that have been paired with this stamp set, but they don’t include any dies for the images. All the dies are Stitched Shapes Rectangles. Please note that the rectangles have been designed around American sized paper. I have asked Stampin’ Up! if there are plans to have rectangles that suit UK/Europe (and South Pacific?) A4 sized paper. They are aware of this and all they can say at this stage is that there aren’t any immediate plans for the UK/Europe size.
My initial reaction when I realised they were for American sized paper was that I didn’t see the point of buying them. I was talking with one of my demo friends, and she’s looking forward to getting her hands on them because she says we’ll still be able to use most of the dies, maybe not the largest one or two. I’ve been caught up with her enthusiasm and will be including the dies in my next order on 3rd. January 2019. I’ll keep you posted how I get on with using these dies.
Back to my card! I painted all the flowers using my clear Wink of Stella Pen, which you can see on the close-up photograph of the small flower. The background stamp has been stamped using Smokey Slate Ink. I adhered five of the flowers to the front of the card using Dimensionals, and I used the sixth flower to decorate the inside of the card. I’m happy how this card turned out, and have enjoyed using several of the elements. I’m looking forward to working with more of them in the coming days aand weeks! Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
