Hello, Crafters.
This is the last weekend before Christmas and the shops are going to be manic, therefore, best avoided! I love that moment on Christmas Eve when you realise all the shops will be closed! Therefore, if anything has been forgotten, we have to go without! I’m pleased to say that yesterday was a much better day than Thursday! Except the double glazing company didn’t turn up as arranged! We have a leak in the conservatory roof that we were hoping would be fixed before Christmas! Now we’re praying that it doesn’t rain!
I love the Botanical Butterflies Designer Series paper (DSP) that will be available as a €60.00/£45.00 Sale-a-bration (SAB) gift. SAB starts on 3rd January 2019 and runs until 31st March 2019. The DSP co-ordinates with the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set and the Butterfly Duet Punch that will be available in the Spring/Summer 2019 Catalogue. This catalogue goes live on 3rd January and runs through until 3rd June 2019.
Using the Butterfly Duet Punch, I punched the butterflies out of a sheet in the Botanical Butterflies DSP pack. The black spotted DSP that I’ve used as a background is another piece of DSP from that pack. The punch is called Duet because it punches two butterflies; one large like today’s card and one small like on yesterday’s card. Yesterday’s butterfly was also from a sheet in this DSP pack. When SAB starts, if you buy the stamp set and punch bundle, as well as the cardstock pack and sequins, you could choose the Botanical Butterflies DSP as your free gift! Just sayin’! ☺
I stamped the sentiment in Versamark, and then heat embossed it with Black Embossing Powder. Next I adhered the three butterflies flying in a diagonal line down the card from left to right. I used the antennae stamp to add a pair to each butterfly. To finish the front of the card I added a small piece of a Dimensional under each wing as close to the body as possible. This will make sure the wings always stay raised, even if the card is sent through the mail! I added some Black Faceted Gems (retired?) along the backs of the butterflies to match the shine on the sentiment.
I added a fourth butterfly inside the card on a layer each of Whisper White and Grapefruit Grove Cardstock (CS). I know I’ve said it before, but I’m not an orange person, but I love this colour combo! I’m thinking my taste has changed because I seem to have made this comment several times recently!
I hope you have a brilliant weekend, and until tomorrow, happy crafting.
JanB. xx
