Hello, Crafters.
Yesterday I had a very successful day with the projects I was working on. The first one is another fancy-fold card that I have been requested to make a video tutorial for. I made the card, and experimented – unsuccessfully! – with changing the size, but found I had to stay with the recommended size for my project to be successful! Tomorrow I need to come up with a design/images that’s practical for a video tutorial, that doesn’t involve too much colouring!
For today’s card I chose to use the Many Blessings Stamp Set, which I have used before, but only for one of the sentiments. To stamp the wreath, I inked the stamp in Versamark, and then Stazon Jet Black Ink. I remember doing this a little while ago, and I achieved a much better image than using just Stazon on its own. I coloured the image using Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede Marker Pens. Using Versamark and Stazon Ink again, I stamped the pot of candy canes on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock (CS). I had already decided that I wanted to fussy cut this and sit it inside the wreath. The Marker Pens I used to colour this image were Real Red, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, Soft Sea Foam, Sahara Sand, Pool Party, and Highland Heather!
Next, to ink the image I dipped the word MERRY onto the Real Red Ink Pad, turned the stamp block around 180° and dipped Christmas onto the Old Olive Ink Pad. I started to put my card together by putting the layer of Whisper White CS which I’d stamped the wreath image on, onto a layer of Real Red CS. After I had fussy cut the pot of candy canes, I adhered it just inside the wreath using Dimensionals. I die cut the sentiment using a die from the Farmhouse Framelits Dies. Instead of layering the sentiment onto a piece of Real Red CS, I decided to wrap a piece of Real Red ribbon around the top two layers, and then use Dimensionals to ahere the sentiment across the ribbon. Then I adhered these two layers to a Whisper White CS card base.
The wreath looked a bit bland and I saw a die for six very small bows in the Farmhouse Framelits Dies. I die cut six in Real Red CS and adhered five if them around the wreath using Tombow. I know I’ve used these bows on a previous card that had a wreath – I obviously like the look! LOL! I adhered the last bow just above Christmas, and then finished the bows off by adding a tiny Basic Pearl in the centre of each bow!
Finally, to decorate the inside of my card, I stamped the pot of candy canes in the bottom right-hand corner of a Whisper White CS layer. After I had coloured it the same as the one on the front of the card, I adhered the layer onto a layer of Real Red CS, and then adhered it inside the card. I thinks that’s about it from me today, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow, hopefuly with another fancy-fold video tutorial! In the meantime, happy crafting.
