Hello, Crafters.
I hope you’ve had a really super Christmas Day. I made today’s video on Christmas Eve, and my camcorder ran out of memory right towards the end. Fortunately I had finished the actual tutorial, so I didn’t remake the video! I apologise for the very abrupt ending!
Today’s video shows how I made the Vibrant Vase card I shared the other day. I’ve now made three cards, each one with a different vase from the stamp set but with them all upside down! Two out of three look great whichever way up they’re used, but I can’t say the same for the Grapefruit Grove card!
Apart from the upside-down vase there are a couple of other areas I’m not happy with! One of them was that I made a mistake when I stamped the sentiment. I corrected it by stamping it again but on to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. I die cut it and glue it to the top layer of the card. To adhere the frames on the other two cards I used Dimensionals, but on this card I decided to see what it’d be like if I used our thicker Foam Adhesive Strips. It works well, but I prefer the slimmer Dimensionals. Despite being very critical of this card, I still think it looks nice……………….and this “orange” colour is definitely growing on me!
As I was working on the Balmy Blue card in the video, I was somewhat disappointed that the blue of the flowers was very close to the blue of the vase. Given that I used the same ink for both it’s not surprising really! But I had used the same colours for the other two cards without this problem! I remedied it by painting the leaves on the vase with my Balmy Blue Marker Pen. If you watch the video you’ll see what an amazing difference it made! I painted over them again after the video and made them even darker! I think it looks great now.
I’m loving this Gingham Gala DSP, it’s so spring-like. I thought I preferred the smaller squares but now I’ve used the larger squares, I like them both!
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a lovely day, and I’ll be back tomorrow. Happy crafting.
JanB. xx

Lovely cards.I have trouble lining up the vase punch exactly, any tips
Many thanks, C Hill. No I haven’t noticed a problem. Do you have a problem with any one particlar vase, or all of them? And are you trying to punch one at a time, or all of them at the same time? Next time I use the punch, I’ll pay particular attention to what I’m doing! Happy crafting, JanB. xx
