Hello, Crafters.
I hope you’ve enjoyed a fabulous Christmas with your family and friends. On Christmas Day we went to Church, and then onto Vicki’sfor dinner with her hubby Leigh, grandchildren Jack and Molly, and two friend’s from Vicki and Leigh’s Church, Mark and Tony. Dinner was absolutely superb, and needless to say we all over-indulged! We agreed to leave mince pies and Christmas Pudding until later! Then we had a lot of fun playing some very silly games! On Boxing Day, hubby and I allowed ourselves a bit of a lie-in. After we had showered and had eaten breakfast, we went out for walk in the woods. Although it was a bit cold, it was a great, and blew away lots of cobwebs!
Before Christmas, I made the statement that I think my colour likes are changing as I’ve been favouring orange colours recently. Today’s colour choice is Daffodil Delight. Although I chose this colour for a practical reason, I love it! On yesterday’s video, I featured Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Balmy Blue Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). The other two colours that come in this pack are Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist. One of the gifts available in the Sale-a-bration (SAB) catalogue is a pack of five Organdy Ribbons that come in the same five colours as the Gingham Gala DSP. I chose Daffodil Delight, and although I didn’t use the Gala Gingham DSP, I did use the Organdy Ribbon.
For today’s card, I chose to use the Wonderful Romance Stamp Set. As yet, I don’t have the matching set of Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies, but I wanted to cut out the image, and adhere it with Dimensionals. When I had a close look at the image, I realised I wouldn’t be able to fussy cut around the small leaves. I decided to stamp the image on my top Whisper White Cardstock (CS) layer, and on another piece of Whisper White CS. On the first image, I painted the small leaves using the Light Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends. On the second image I coloured the biggest leaves with Light and Dark Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends, the middle sized leaves with Light and Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends, and the flowers with Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
After I had fussy cut the image and adhered it in place with Dimensionals, I used the spotty stamp to create an all round spotty pattern. I wrapped some Organdy Ribbon around the top two layers, and tied it in a bow which I positioned over the stems. I used Call Me Clover Ink to stamp the sentiment on a strip of Whisper White CS. I layered it on a piece of Daffodil Delight CS that was a bit taller then the Whisper White sentiment. I cut some thin strips of Dimensionals, to adhere the sentiment across the ribbon! I punched a yellow butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly DSP that will also be available a s a gift in the SAB brochure! To complete the front of the card I added small pearls to the middle of the three full flowers.
To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped part of the image I’d used for the front of the card so I only had leaves. After I’d painted them with the same Stampin’ Blends as the front, I stamped some spots, and then added another butterfly! Don’t be surprised if you see these little butterflies popping up all over the place on my forthcoming projects! LOL!
That’s it from me today, and I look forward to being back with you tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
JanB xx
