Hello, Crafters.
I’m pleased to say my day yesterday was so, so much better than Wednesday. I had a vague response from YouTube yesterday morning regarding the problems I’d had. Apparently, it was something to do with uploaded videos yesterday. The good news is that everything is back to normal! I do thank YouTube for dealing with my problem so promptly! The first card I’m sharing with you was the highlight of my day on Wednesday! I received it from Veronique Vinel, who’s a French lady in my team of Super Stars! I love everything about this card, but most of all that it was made with me in mind! If there was any doubt in my mind about the power of a hand made card, there isn’t now! I was bowled over when I opened the envelope. Veronique was inspired by a video she saw on YouTube by Shari Carroll. I think the dies for the numbers were probably from SU – unfortunately retired now! – and the Designer Series Paper could very well be SU, too.
I also love what Veronique has done inside the card! The swirly snowflakes die cut has been glued at the top and the bottom only, which has left a space for the stamped message to be slipped inside. Veronique wrote a personal note to me on the reverse. The design of this card is very simple but stunning. I will certainly be casing it at some time, either using somebody’s name, or NOEL for Christmas. A truly gorgeous card which gave me a much needed lift on a very stressful day! Many, many thanks Veronique!
The second card is from the Incredible Like You Project Kit. The sentiment on this Granny Apple Green Card should have been stamped in Lovely Lipstick Ink. I changed mine because I wasn’t happy about putting Lovely Lipstick onto a Grapefruit Grove striped oval. After I had stamped the sentiment, I decided to flip the Grapefruit Grove stripes over, and stamp some Soft Sea Foam stripes instead! The stamp was from the Incredible Like You Stamp Set! The instructions also said to adhere a Grapefruit Grove bow that had been made from the Baker’s Twine that comes in the kit. Instead I took some Old Olive Linen Thread and wrapped it around the card four times. Then I tied the ends in a bow. I was really pleased with the result, and decided to make the other two cards the same except for changing the striped oval and Baker’s Twine to Grapefruit Grove. I’m happy with both colour schemes, but I know I would not have been happy if I’d stamped my sentiments in Lovely Lipstick!
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a fabulous Friday, and until tomorrow, happy crafting!
JanB. xx
