Hello, Crafters.
I hope you’ve had a super weekend, and are feeling well refreshed. My week is going to be a very busy week, starting today with a visit to my GP at 8.30 am, and then my orthodontist at 12.30pm. Today’s card is my take on a card provided to demonstrators by Stampin’ Up! This is another of the perks we receive as demonstrators! I wanted to try this card because the instructions said to die cut and emboss the larger heart which was in Silver Foil. Once I started playing with this card I changed several parts, and doesn’t really look like the original card! LOL!
As I can’t show you a photograph of the original card, I don’t think there’s any point going into what I’ve changed, but I will explain what I have done. I started with a card base in Lovely Lipstick Cardstock (CS), and cut a layer of Whisper White CS and a top layer of All My Love Designer Series Paper (DSP). I adhered the two layers together, and wrapped a piece of Lovely Lipstick Ribbon, which has white stitching along both edges, about an inch up from the bottom. Then I adhered an 1/8″ wide strip of Whisper White ribbon across the middle of the Lovely Lipstick Ribbon. Next I adhered the two layers to the card base.
I created the small heart first by stamping the image onto a piece of Whisper White CS using Crumb Cake Ink. I die cut the heart using the scalloped edged heart from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies. This die cuts the heart out with a straight cut, and it also cuts out a scalloped edged stitched frame. I used some very narrow, short strips of tape, to tape the heart and the frame together, at the back. When I was ready to adhere the heart to the card, I placed the Dimensionals in positions that would hold the heart together.
Next I created the large heart, and die cut it using the larger dies that match the smaller hearts I used for the stamped heart! This time I decided not to adhere the heart and the frame together. I used Dimensionals to adhere the large heart in position first. Next I worked out where I needed to place Dimensionals on the smaller heart so I could lay the left-hand side of the heart over the right-hand side of the larger heart. I added three Rhinestones to the smaller heart, and eventually decided to decorate the larger heart with five Rhinestines in a row, coming down the front! This has made the heart look like a shirt, and would look great on a wedding card!To finish my card I added a Whisper White CS layer in the centre for the greeting. To decorate this layer, I die cut the strip of roses in Lovely Lipstick CS, and adhered to the layer using Tombow! I’m pleased with the finished card, but I do wish I could show you the original! That’s it from me today. I wish you a happy Monday, and until tomorrow, happy crafting.
