Hello, Crafters.
Weekends always go too fast, but I hope you’ve enjoyed yours, and are feeling fully refreshed for this new week. As a cat-lover I’ve wanted to play with this stamp set for quite some time, but just didn’t have any ideas! Then I came up with what I though was a great idea, and set to work on it! Unfortunately it didn’t work out, so it’s on the back burner until I can tweak my idea so it does work! By the time I had reached this stage, I had so many different images I’d stamped, punched, and die cut, I stayed with the Nine Lives Stamp Set!I wanted to use the TRUE LOVE sentiment but without the “has four paws”. It was easy to cover the second half of the sentiment with tape, and ink and stamp. I noticed the JUST FUR YOU sentiment in the Happy Tails Stamp Set, and I thought it went together brilliantly with the TRUE LOVE sentiment. I chose the Designer Series Paper (DSP) design from Share What You Love because I think it looks like paw prints! Real Red is not the kind of colour I would normally choose to go with Crumb Cake, but it has worked well. I think I was thinking Valentine’s Day!
To die cut the TRUE LOVE sentiment, I used a small die from the Bunch of Banners Framelits. It fitted beautifully, and the JUST FUR YOU fitted the Classic Label Punch perfectly, too! It makes a lovely change to be able to use a different die, and a punch for each of the sentiments, rather than having them matchy, matchy! LOL! After I had cut the strip of Crumb Cake to go across the card, as well as the Crumb Cake circle for the cat to sit on, I decided to emboss both pieces using the Subtle Dynamic Embossing Folder. I wrapped a piece of Real Red Ribbon around the strip, and tied it in a bow. There is a two step stamping bow in the stamp set, and I stamped three of them which I fussy cut. However I tried to arrange them, it made the card look too fussy! I put one on the cat’s neck like a collar, and that didn’t work either because the cat looks quite masculine. I cut the two tails off one of the bows and created a bow tie. This looked so much better! To finish the front of my card I added some Rhinestones.
To decorate the inside of my card, I adhered a Crumb Cake cat I had stamped earlier. I didn’t use it on the front of my card, because I didn’t think the colour was quite right with everything else that was going on. But it looked perfect on the inside, and it also looked like a female cat, so the bow on the neck was perfect.
No promises, but today I’ll try and use the Happy Tails Stamp Set. I have an idea in my mind; I just hope it’s more practical than my Nine Lives idea was yesterday! LOL! That’s it from me today. I hope you have a marvellous Monday and I’ll be back tomorrow. In the meantime, happy crafting.
