Hello, Crafters.
It’s the weekend again, and I hope it’s a good one whatever your plans are. Beauty Abounds is a stamp set I haven’t used before. The flowery image was a real pleasure to colour! I chose to use Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Stampin Write Marker Pens to do the colouring, which I thoroughly enjoyed doing! The reason I chose Daffodil Delight was because I was hoping to use some Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper (DSP). As you can see that part of my plan didn’t work out!
The Beauty Abounds Stamp Set has two great sentiments, as well as three small generic ones. There’s the one I have used for today’s card, and “A friend is someone who chooses you…” and “…out of a whole world of people”. Both sets of sentiments really epitomises true friendships! After I had finished colouring the image, I die cut it using the largest of the slim Stitched Rectangle Framelit Dies. I adhered it to a layer of Granny Apple Green Cardstock (CS). Next I stamped both sentiments using Stazon Jet Black Ink onto Whisper White CS. After I’d die cut them using a circle Stitched Shape Framelits Die, I adhered them on to die cut Granny Apple Green CS scalloped circles.
I started building my card with a card base of Whisper White CS, and a layer of Granny Apple Green. The top layer is Whisper White CS which has been embossed using the Subtles Dynamic Embossing Folder. I adhered the two sentiments, plus the image to the top layer using Dimensionals. To finish the front of the card, I added three butterflies I’d punched out from the Botanical Butterfly DSP, using the Butterfly Duet Punch. The antennae were stamped on using a small die from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. A small detail but it adds so much! The final detail I added was a strip of three pearls along each butterfly’s body.
To decorate the inside of the card, I stamped the image in the bottom right-hand corner. After colouring it the same as the front of the, I added another small butterfly. There is a set of dies which accompany the Beauty Abounds stamp set. The two main dies are five butterflies all connected together. Once they have been die cut, one is adhered on top of the other, and they create the most amazing two-tone butterflies!
That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a lovely day, and I’ll be back tomorrow with a video showing how to make a really delightful fancy fold card! In the meantime, happy crafting.
