Hello, Crafters.
Today’s card is Hubby’s idea, i.e. the bird flying in for the nectar! And I’m so very pleased how his idea has turned out! When I was creating yesterday’s card, I made the bird without knowing what I was going to do with him! As my card progressed, there wasn’t room to use the bird without making my design look overcrowded. As I was talking to Hubby about it, he told me what his idea was!
When I started on my card yesterday, I knew I was going along with Hubby’s excellent idea. I remember from when I was making yesterday’s card, I reached the point where my main image was completed, but I had a large plain area of Whisper White emptiness! For today’s card I decided to emboss the top Whisper White Cardstock (CS) layer using the Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder. This would mean that all images would have to be die cut or fussy cut. One idea I did have was to stamp and colour the four corner images before embossing! I was sure quite what this would look like, so I did a small test piece. Although it worked well, I knew the images would stand out much better if they are fussy cut and adhered on top. Looking at my finished card, I’m very pleased I decided to go this route!
Although I didn’t mention it, yesterday, I wished the sentiment had stamped a bit darker. To avoid it happening with today’s card, I used my Stamparatus, and it worked a treat! To decorate the inside of the card, I adhered a layer of Granny Apple Green CS, and then a top layer of Whisper White CS. The images I had prepared were two green corners and one large pink flower. I adhered them on the top layer, as you see. To finish of my card, I painted all the leaves, and flowers, the bird and the butterfly using my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. I made a concerted effort to take some photographs where the glitter can be seen!
That’s it from me today. I hope you have a fabulous Friday, and until tomorrow, happy crafting.
