I hope you’ve had an excellent weekend. What a gorgeous day it was (here in the UK) yesterday? Beautiful blue sky and glorious sunshine. It was a bit chilly, especially in the shade but hubby and I went for a lovely walk after Church! I’ve had four of these Lemon Lime Twist flowers sitting on the side for the last two or three weeks. I decided I’d better use them soon as this stamp set will be retiring next weekend. The black and white spotted paper is from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (DSP), and will also be retiring next week!
I stamped four of the fern branches using Tranquil Tide Ink. For the little branches with three leaves, I used Tranquil Tide Ink stamped off once. Next I die cut them using the matching Four Seasons Framelits Dies. I arranged the flowers and leaves on my card in diagonally opposite corners. When I was happy with the arrangement, I adhered them in place with Dimensionals.
I wasn’t left with much room for a sentiment, so I chose this simple HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the Piece of Cake Stamp Set. After I had stamped it on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (CS) using Stazon Ink, I punched it out with the Classic Label Punch. I also punched out a Basic Black CS classic label to use as a layer for the sentiment. Using Dimensionals, I adhered the sentiment in what was probably the only place where I had room to keep it straight without touching the flowers or leaves! LOL! To decorate the top left-hand corner and the bottom right-hand I adhered three Glitter Enamel Dots. I’m not sure if my Dots are from the current catalogue or are retired; I suspect the latter!
To finish my card I added a layer of Basic Black CS and a layer of Whisper White CS. In the bottom right-hand corner I adhered one flower, one fern, and one branch with three leaves using Tombow. It’s quite a busy card for me, but it’s flowers, and flowers mean Spring which can’t come soon enough now! That’s about it from me today. I hope you have a marvellous Monday, and until tomorrow, happy crafting!
