Hello, Crafters.
I’m so pleased it’s the weekend. This evening hubby and I are going to see our daughter’s Church play, Exodus. Molly, our granddaughter, and Leigh, our son-in-law, both have parts in the play! I made yesterday’s card using the Very Vintage Stamp Set, which is a Hostess Set. I really enjoyed colouring the image using Stampin’ Write Marker Pens. There are a lot of places that are really very small. I found the easiest way to do the colouring was to use the pen end of the marker! The colours are Lovely Lipstick and Call Me Clover.
I stamped the image first using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Before I started colouring the image, I stamped the background. I used the Crackle Paint Background Stamp, inked with Sahara Sand, and stamped off once. The way I positioned the stamp – badly! – left a gap at the bottom of the sheet. Rather than waste the sheet and start again, I sliced off 1/8″ across the bottom. I trimmed off 1/16″ either side as well, because I already had the Lovely Lipstick layer cut and ready. It has left me a wider than normal border which I think looks really nice!
The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and has been stamped in Black Stazon Ink. I mounted the sentiment on Dimensionals and added a Basic Pearl Jewel either end for decoration. Next I wanted to add a bow but the only Lovely Lipstick ribbon I have is a very wide one. I couldn’t find any Call Me Clover Ribbon. Fortunately the 3/16″ Braided Linen Thread has been carried over from the Christmas catalogue, and I thought it would blend in beautifully. I used my bow maker to make a double bow, and adhered it in the top left-hand side.
To complete the embellishments on the front of the card, I added three very small pearls in the flowers near the bottom. In the top right-hand corner I added a vertical row of three large pearls. The final addition was Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen on all the flowers and leaves. Inside the card I added a layer each of Whisper White and Lovely Lipstick Cardstock. To decorate the top layer, I painted the straight border stamp using the two marker pens I’d used on the front. To finish the image off, I painted over it with my Wink of Stella Pen. I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project. I wish you a super weekend and look forward to being back with you tomorrow. Happy crafting.

Hi, Cathy. I wasn’t very happy with last year’s five new InColours but as I’ve been using them I’ve been falling in love…………. slowly! I think I only struggle with Pineapple pPunch now! LOL! Happy crafting, JanB. xx
This Very Vintage is one of my favorite stamp sets that I recently bought and I am excited to be using the floral bouquet stamp and CASE your card. I also bought the Crackle Paint background stamp and have enjoyed using it to make my cards look aged.
Your cards are always so elegant and beautiful and I appreciate you sharing your talent with us!
Blessings to you and your family!
Hi, Roberta. It frequestly happens – understandably – that some of the best stamp sets are used as Hostess sets! This certainly applies to Very Vintage. And that Crackle Paint Background Stamp really is something else! Absolutely love it! Happy crafting.

First off I would like to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question which I’d
like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out
how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to
writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out.
I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost simply just trying to
figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips?
Appreciate it!
